"god damn it... i'm so nervous for today." seonghwa shakily said to his mother who was busy cooking dinner for her and her husband.

"why are you so nervous? it's not like you haven't taken hongjoong out on dates before." seonghwa's mother said back to the boy, trying to ease his nerves as much as she possibly could with some facts.

"yeah i know that, but this is our first date as boyfriends. i mean, we hung out a few times since then or whatever, but i'm taking him on a real date tonight. what if he hates it? what if the date isn't good enough?" seonghwa said as he took a seat at the kitchen table, pulling at his hair with his hands in frustration.

seonghwa's mother turned off the stove and walked up to her nervous son. she opened her arms and let the boy hug her tightly, seonghwa embracing his mother as he nervously shook underneath her touch.

"calm down hun. it'll be perfect, i know of it! i mean, come on... i helped you come up with the date idea. of course it's going to be fun." mrs. park laughed, trying to bring some comedic relief to the situation. it thankfully helped seonghwa out a bit, the boy laughing at the joke his mother told.

"you got a point. i think he'll love it too, but i'm just overanalyzing everything right now. do you think i look good enough?" seonghwa suddenly asked, standing up to show his mother the outfit he picked out for his date.

"hmm..." she trailed off, startling seonghwa a bit, "you're always so boring! all black again? no, come with me. we're changing your shirt." she grabbed seonghwa by the hand and dragged her son to his bedroom.

"mom, all i own is black! it's practically the only color i ever wear." seonghwa said as he took a seat on his bed, his mother looking through his closet for him.

"i know for a fact that isn't true because i recently bought you a cute dress top, you just never wear anything other than the same old boring black clothing." she insulted seonghwa slightly as she continued looking through his closet with a specific shirt in mind.

eventually, sunhee found the exact shirt she had in mind hidden in the back of seonghwa's closet. she smiled widely as she turned around and showed seonghwa the top.

"you're wearing this. no if's, then's, or but's." she handed the boy the shirt and walked towards the door, "and you better show me what it looks like before you leave." mrs. park said before walking out of the room and giving her son space to get changed.

"huh, this actually isn't too bad." seonghwa said as he looked at the shirt his mother handed him.

seonghwa began unbuttoning his boring black dress top and threw on the button down his mother handed him. the shirt had an intricate pattern, involving some white, grays, and black on the top. seonghwa buttoned up the shirt and decided on leaving the top button open to show more of his chest. he also tucked the shirt into his pants for a cleaner look. when he looked at himself in the mirror, seonghwa fell in love with the look.

"wow, mom's really do know best." seonghwa chuckled before walking out of the room to show his mother his incredible look.

when seonghwa entered the room, his mother gasped out loud. seonghwa did a little turn for her, showing her all the sides of his outfit.

"see, you look absolutely stunning! still fancy, but not boring!" she cheered out loud, clapping her hands as she ran over to give her son a big kiss on the cheek.

"thanks mom, you're the best." seonghwa thanked his mother honestly, smiling as she backed away from his face.

"ok, enough of me! you have a boy waiting for you. go get him!" seonghwa's mother exclaimed, hitting her son lightly on the arm to get him out of the house.
