Chapter 16

Jimmy drove us to a dance club not too far from my home. Truthfully I'm kind of excited. Although I'm also nervous because I don't really know how to dance swing that well. I've been to a few parties, but I never really dance. The car ride was quiet except for a few mentions of how happy he was I agreed to go out with him tonight. I wore a red dress with black trim and honestly I felt beautiful.

When we arrived to the club the loud music made me nervous. "I don't really know how to dance very well," I said as he parked. "Well it's easy I'll show you," he said. He led me inside and I felt stares from every which way. They probably recognized us from the show.

People were jumping around in dances, hyponitizeing me with their crazy sycronized moves. "You want to dance?" I heard Jimmy say over the music. I looked between him and the people on the dance floor very intimated. "Oh come on it's fun!" He said grabbing my hand and dragging me to the dance floor. "Start swaying your hips," he said.

I analyzed what all the other girls were doing kinda falling into step with him.

My mom had made me take swing a long time ago but the way these people danced was far more intense. However I kinda got the hang of it and soon we were swinging! I laughed as he twirled me again and again.

It was the most fun I've ever had in my life. We had such a great time skipping around the dance floor. It was like we had danced before hundreds of times.

I felt as light as a feather dancing with him. The smile never left his face as we spent the night dancing away. My mind never strayed from how much fun we were having. There was no anxiety or sad thoughts, just him and I having fun and swing dancing. My heart felt like it was gonna pop from how much excitement there was coursing through my veins. The last song of the night made me wish I could do this forever.

It was a beautiful feeling.

I almost felt guilty for having such a great time. It was raining hard when the dance was over and we ran to the car. Our laughter echoed off his car windows as we got in after having the time our lives. "Did you see that guy fall?" He laughed. "He brought down about three girls with him too," I said trying to stop laughing so hard, I could hardly breathe. The car suddenly got quiet and I looked to see he was staring at me. "You were wonderful tonight," he said seriously. "Oh I probably looked like a hot mess," I said. "You were the most beautiful girl out there tonight," he said. His blue ocean eyes stared at me intensely and I knew he was telling the truth. I blushed and looked down at my lap. "Don't hide that beauty," he said as he pushed up on my chin softly with his fingers. He seemed to be moving closer and as if I was hypnotized my lips seemed to find his. It was a different feeling that was hard to decipher, but as soon as it began I ended it feeling a dreadful feeling in the pit of my stomach. "I'm sorry," he said, quickly to which I shook my head. "Don't be," I said breathlessly.

The car ride was quiet but I couldn't deny what a great night I had. Maybe Jimmy could be the answer to a normal life. This is as normal as a woman's life could get. He was sweet, handsome, and successful everything a woman could want in a man. I just can't deny the feeling that I shouldn't even be thinking like this. We finally arrived at my house but I never wanted this night to end. "I actually had a pretty good time tonight," I said with a shy smile. "Does that mean you'd consider going out with me again?" He asked hopefully. "I'll think about it," I said with a smile. "That's good enough for me," he said. He walked me to my door and I couldn't help but feel anxious. "Goodnight," I said suddenly. "Goodnight," He said moving a bit of hair out of my face. His bright blue eyes seem to put me in a trance every time. I leaned forward and placed a kiss on his cheek trying to hold back from a repeat of earlier. I opened my door and walked in as he stood there still stunned. I looked back at him once more with a smile and waved a bit. What a night.
