millie's pov

I wake up to my alarm ringing from my room, I flutter my eyes open to see the floor stained with dry blood. I get up from the bathroom floor to wash my face to attempt to make me look more alive. I didn't bother to put any makeup on so I just put my hair in a messy bun. I put on a hoodie with sweatpants and walk to ava's room to wake her up.

I walk downstairs to make breakfast, I made scrambled eggs with sausages and set it on the plate.

"hey morning ava"

"morning mills" she replies as I put some coffee in my Starbucks cup for school

"what's that on your arm" I heard ava ask from beind me, I quickly pull my sleeve down to cover that one scar as I turn back to her

"oh nothing just a cut from a project I did from school" I lied

"cool" she said under her breath

"c'mon ava finish up, I don't want you to be late" I said as I picked up mine and ava's schoolbag

"Im done" she smiled as she got off the stool. I got the keys and walked out to the car and sped to ava's school since she was almost late 

"alright ava lets go, you're a minute late"

"that's because of traffic" she replied as she got out of the car

"baby I'm not gonna walk you today, I'm already late" I said as I poked my head through the window

"It's okay, I'll see you after school"

"bye baby girl, I love you"

"I love you too" she shouted as she walked into school

I quickly drive to my school and park in my usal spot. I grab my bag and my coffee and walk into school as fast as I can, I make a quick stop to my locker to grab some books and walk to science.

"you're late" the teacher glares at me

"clearly" I mutter under my breath 

"what was that?"

"nothing" I roll my eyes

"i'll let this slide this once since you weren't that late now go sit down"

I walk to the back of the classroom and sit in the corner, I put my hood up and lay my head on the table but once I close my eyes his face appears. I quickly shot my eyes open and reached my hand down to my pocket to play with my blade in attempt to calm myself down, 10 minutes later I calm down and I just stare outside to make time past faster.

"Millie!" Caleb shouted making me snap out of my thoughts

"huh?"

"class ended like 5 minutes ago, you okay?" he asked as he stood by the doorway

"yeah yeah, i'll um see you at lunch" I say as I walk to my next class
