millie's pov
detention. that's where i am right now. i don't want this to end because where im going next is more stressful.
"mills" finn snaps me out of my thoughts
"yeah?" i look at him
"you zoned out again" he says quietly
"i'm just thinking. i'm okay" i reassure him as he nods
"right. detentions over" principle harbour says, opening the door and closing it
"i'll see you later, i gotta go somewhere" i kiss finn quickly before running out of the room
i ran to my car, taking a deep breath before driving to the police station. yeah, apparently we have to talk to the chief again. my mums meeting me there.
i arrive at the police station, taking a deep breath before walking in. i see my mum sitting down, waiting for me and i give her a quick hug.
"you ready?" she asks as i nod
we walk into a room and soon chief hopper walks in. he gives me a smile and i gave a weak smile in response.
"i called you guys here because i need to tell you a few things. your court date is next saturday and i was informed that robert brown has a lawyer. you may also ask for one-"
"i don't want a lawyer. i just want to say what i have to say and get out of there." i say sternly as he nods
"yes okay, that's okay" he smiles as i nod
"you probably won't go on straight away. they will speak to him blah blah blah and then it's your turn. you have the choice to not be in that room in that time. also lawyers can be real bad people so if they're being stupid idiots try not to scream at them" he chuckles at the last part as i let out a giggle
"and i think that's all. and don't worry, he won't go anywhere near you" he reassures me as i nod
"thank you" i whisper as my mum rubs my arm
"i'll see you guys next week" he says as i nod
i walk out quickly, grabbing a cancer stick and taking a drag.
"millie bobby brown! are you smoking" she asks as i take a drag with my shaky hands
i look up at her as a tear rolls down my cheek, "it helps me calm down" i pant
"millie baby, calm down. it's alright honey" she rubs my back, "he won't go near you. i'll be there with you, the whole time" she says as i nod
"okay" i breathe out
"he can't hurt you, remember that" she says quietly as i nod
"you want to go home now?" she asks as i shake my head
"i- um- i want to go somewhere first. i'll see you at home later" i kiss her cheek and walked to my car
i drove to the cliff and walked down the staircase to go behind the waterfall.
i sigh, sitting down criss crossed as i stare at the clear water.
