I waited for the brunette to leave before I came in Zach's sight.
"Was that?" I asked with a shocked face.
"No! And don't even dare take her name or you'll have to listen a lot from me," he said, pointing his index finger towards me.
"I'm sorry, but she looked exactly like her," I replied, doing little gestures.
"She's not her. No one can be her," he trailed off. I already saw tear droplets surfacing his eyes.
"You're coming over at mine right?" I quickly asked, changing the topic and rubbing his arm.
"I don't..."
"You said you would come. You've gotta come if you want to listen to what happened yesterday..." I trailed off this time, knowing very well that he is interested in my social life
way beyond one's imagination
"Fine! Now get in," he replied, defeatedly.
"Love you!" I said, kissing him on the cheek, and settling into the car.
"Love you 3000!" he replied.
"Aww! Look at Zach using Marvel references."
"Shut up or I won't come," he replied, firing the engine.
I did the lip-lock action and threw the imaginary key into his lap. He picked it up and put it in his pocket.
The drive was silent as we discussed our day.
We entered my house to find it empty as always.
"Where is everybody?"
"Dad has a case he received yesterday, so he might be at his office, finding evidence. And mother would be at the NGO."
"Right! I forgot your mother still goes to the NGO even though she's pregnant," he said.
"We all told her no but she wouldn't listen and she loves doing it," I said.
The bell rang.
"It must be Syd," I said, going to open the door.
"You've gotta tell me what the hell happened at lunchtime," she shouted right when I opened the door.
"Come in first. We'll talk about that later," I replied.
She quickly ran into the house and jumped onto the sofa.
"Spill!" she demanded the next second.
"It was nothing. Yesterday, I went over to Ryder's because of our Home-ec project. We were alone with his little sister, Lorelie. We discussed what to make and he had kept the flour bag open, so it spilled on me and the next thing we know, there's flour all over the kitchen. His sister saw us and she wanted to play twister so we started playing. She was the referee and Ryder and I were playing. She felt an urge to pee when there was very little space between Ryder and me. We both wanted to win so we stayed in that position and Aarold saw us. Thus he was teasing me at lunch. That's it. Nothing else happened," I finished quickly leaving a few parts.
"YOU WERE ABOUT TO KISS RYDER FREAKING KIERSTON!" Syd and Zach exclaimed together.
"No! That wAs just a game and we weren't THAT close," I replied.
"Oh you were. I heard Aarold say your lips were inches apart," Syd said.
"Do you believe everything he says? No, right. So don't believe this too," I replied again.
