He showed me the thumbs-up sign and went in. I quickly made my way to my house and parked the car near the park so they would not suspect anything. Like a detective, I went to the backyard and sneaked into my room through my window. It was pretty easy since I had done it twice before when I forgot my keys. I landed with a loud thump but was pretty sure they didn't hear it due to the loud music blaring in the background. I hid myself under the bed. I laid there, surfing through my phone. I already had a few missed calls from Ryder and a lot of texts. I replied to the texts saying that I was fine and I just wanted some alone time. He replied with an okay.

"Open the window!" I heard Aarold whisper shout and I quickly opened it.

"Task 3 and 4 done!" he exclaimed as we high-fived.

"Ryder will be here anytime now," Aarold said, as we hid under the bed.

"Good job!"

"Why have they kept the music so loud? Won't the neighbors come barging in?"

"Did you hear it when you were outside?" I asked him and he shook his head.

"Your answer," I shrugged.

"Let's play 21 questions," Aarold suggested.

"You go first."

"Okay. Are you a virgin?"

"Aarold!" I whispered, hitting him.

"What? I just wanted to know if you've ever had sex and if he hurt you. If he did, I would kill that bastard," he said, through gritted teeth.

"Calm down big bro. I am a virgin. My turn..."

We played for what felt like forever until we heard footsteps come into my room.

"Shhh..." I shushed Aarold. I knew who it was. He walked to the wall of photos I had. I had also put one of the whole group when we were hanging at our place.

"I like you a lot, Rory. I have since the first time we met and I'm falling for you, hard. That day when I saw you in the park when we were 13, I knew it was you. My heart started running and I felt something I'd never felt before. I was so nervous when I approached you and you had fallen. You were so strong. You are strong now too. You helped me get past Lor and I can't be more grateful for anything. I'm sorry if I ever hurt you. I didn't mean to. I'm sorry for today too. I really want to wish you a happy birthday but that brother of yours is so hell-bent on giving you this surprise party. Your parents agreed to it too and that's what caught me the most because you don't like crowds and I'm sure Andrew invited half of the school. But don't worry, I have my own special surprise for you. I hope you like it. Just please don't leave me like she left me. I won't be able to handle that. Happy Birthday again angel," he finished kissing one of my portrait photos. He attached a few photos to that wall. I couldn't see them but I knew one of them was us, together. A tear rolled down my cheek as he finished.

"Awww..." Aarold whispered from beside me and hit him playfully as I wiped a tear.

"I don't understand, why did he say that to my photos?" I whispered to Aarold as Ryder walked out.

"He has this weird habit. If he is nervous about telling someone something, he writes his feelings down and then says it to one of the person's photos," Aarold shrugged.

"Noted," and we both smiled. We played for a while before it was lunchtime so we both sneaked out and went to the café I work in. As soon as Aarold and I entered, I was greeted by Cole's mother.

"Happy birthday Aury," she said and I replied with a 'thank you'. She asked about my family and I asked about Cole.

We seated ourselves at a table and were greeted by Cole himself.
