Aurelia's POV
When I opened my eyes, my bed was surrounded by bouquets and no one was inside my room. Where was Ryder? Wasn't he supposed to stick to me the whole time? I threw a small bouquet at the door and mom peeked in. Thank god someone was there. Then everybody started filling in with happy faces. I was kept in the hospital for two more days and then I was free to go home. I am in my room right now watching stranger things with a tub of ice cream. Not like I went through a breakup or something but just to chill.
I don't know where my phone was but I didn't mind as I was getting a new one. Ryder hadn't yet called, which I was angry about. Also, the Ben guy had been caught. I was happy about it that they'd punish him. Syd told me I was unconscious for 4 days, Which freaked me out. I felt like I was on a TV show or something.
I called Aarold just for entertainment. He never stops.
Aarold: Hello?
Me: Hello bro. Up for a movie?
Aarold: Actually I'm busy.
Me: I know you're roaming randomly on streets, I can hear horns from vehicles.
Aarold: I'm not joking Aury.
He said that in a very strange tone.
Me: Are you okay? You don't seem to be.
Aarold: I'll call you back.
Before I could say anything else, he hung up. Huh? It was confusing. Andrew walked in just then.
"Hey! What's going on? Aarold was kind of... worried?" I asked him.
"Umm... Ryder..."
"What happened to him? Is he okay? Why didn't he call or come to visit me?" I said and a tear fell out of my eyes. I missed him a lot.
"We can't find him," he replied in a low voice.
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah, and it kind of was m-my f-fault," he stuttered and looked down. Oh my god! I knew what he was talking about and I knew exactly what had happened. Pieces started to make sense. Ryder not contacting me, no one talking about him...
"You told him to stay away from me, didn't you?" I asked Andrew and he looked down. I knew what was the answer.
"It wasn't his fault Andrew! It was the drunk driver's fault. If it were you driving then too we would have gone into an accident!" I shouted at him.
"But if he hadn't told us to go then we would have been safe," he told me.
"Well, what if that Ben guy would have abused your mother and you finally found out his location? Wouldn't you want to go and tell the police right then and there?" I shouted at him again.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't tell that to me. That guy probably has no one right now! Even his parents aren't here right now and the only friends he has to go away from him. Have some heart Andrew," I shouted at him as I got up.
"Where are you going Aury? You need to rest," he said, coming beside me.
"I need to save that guy!" I yelled and walked away. I immediately called Aarold.
Me: Did you find Ryder?
Aarold: How'd you know?
Me: Answer the damn question.
Aarold: No. I looked almost everywhere. Even at Lor's grave.
Me: Come pick me up. I might know where he is.
