I was sitting there with my eyes close and suddenly someone covered my eyes with the palms. Wait, no this cannot be true. But it's the same cologne though. Oh my god! Is it him?
I held those hands. They were huge, surely not belonging to a girl.
"Cole? Is it you?"
If it wasn't him, I would be teased for my life for this. He gently removed his hands. I stood up at full tilt to find Cole standing behind me with a huge smirk. I jumped into his arms, hugging him.
"You told me you couldn't make it here," I said, still hugging him tightly.
"Might have lied."
I separated from the hug and looked at Aarold.
"This was the surprise?"
"Wait, he told you?" Andy said looking annoyed at Aarold and back at me.
"Maybe, but not what it was."
"Okay, you love-sick puppies, back to life," Syd shouted, grabbing everyone's attention.
Yeah, she and I behave like that when no one's giving us attention. Andy stood up and went to sit beside her. Well, he might know her as well as me.
"Anybody up for a walk in the woods?" Dylan asked.
Everyone agreed except Aarold, who was very tired and Ryder accompanied him. Ryder was gazing at Cole and me like we were aliens. Never seen a couple before? When Dylan asked for a walk, his eyes flashed anger but soon changed as Aarold was staying. He is getting weirder day by day. What is he? A werewolf maybe. Luckily it wasn't a full moon day. We grabbed at torches and went off for a walk.
Ryder's POV
Cole was not coming! Why is he even fuckin here? Now I would get to spend the least time with Aury. I wanted to kill Cole when she hugged him so tightly. After his arrival, they were sitting right facing me. They were so close that Aury was almost sitting on his lap. After that, to add oil in the fire, Dylan asked to go for a walk. I was going to deny, but before me Aarold denied and I accompanied him.
We went into our tent to take some snacks and were sitting around the fire, eating.
"So, the fire subsided?" Aarold asked.
"What?"
"Don't lie. I know since, like forever dude."
"And what am I lying about?"
"You should have seen your face when Aury and Cole were hugging."
"Did it look pretty?" I said, acting like a girl.
"Actually, it did. If you have feelings for her, why don't you tell her man."
"Shut up!"
I don't want to hurt her. She will think I'm just using her like other girls. Yes, she is special to me and I like her a lot. She's always so smart and childish and cute and helpful and the list could go on and on. I love that about her. If I ask her out and she says no, even the friendship we share will get uncomfortable and I don't want that to happen. I want her to be mine, forever and always but she deserves way better than me. Cole is good for her but at the same time, I can't stand them.
"Wake up!" Aarold shouted in my ear.
"I'm awake!"
"Doesn't seem so," he muttered.
"Anyways, we haven't talked in forever and I wanted to tell you about Aury's nightmares-"
"Why would I want to know about them?"
