"All done!" Syd exclaimed as she pushed me to do a twirl.
"You look like an angel girl. Ryder's gonna have a tough time today," she winked at me and I blushed. She had just finished my hair after I did hers. I was pretty good at doing other's hair but not so good at doing mine.
"You look amazing too Syd. I bet Andrew won't be able to stay away from you," I winked. Her face dropped but she covered it with a smile. I knew he hadn't asked her out.
That fool!
"Let's go! We need to finish the cake cutting before half the school barges in that door," she said, pulling me down. Syd was dressed in a strapless black dress long enough just to cover her butt. Come on, my parents are gonna be there too. I also had a black dress on with a very low neck, almost no neck. The straps only covered my boobs and formed a cross at the back. It had glittery black furry material that covered my butts enough. I looked like I just saw a ghost in the mirror. But Syd forced me anyway.
As soon as we finished cutting the cake with the others singing the song on top of their lungs, our parents left. Soon the house started filling with people from our school and some from other schools too. I was enjoying it. I got many gifts but I always open them the next day. Ryder was beside me and we were currently going to the backyard.
"What's the matter Ry?" I asked as he pulled me.
"Did I tell you how beautiful you look today?" he asked as he tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear. I blushed a little and kissed him.
"Once or twice but I like to hear it again and again," I said as we pulled apart.
"I'm sorry we made you feel like we did not remember your birthday. I really wanted to wish you but that brother of yours is stubborn, just like you," he added and I smiled after hitting him playfully.
"You wanna know a secret?"
He nodded.
"We knew about this," I whispered and he looked shocked but then his face changed into one that showed that he understood.
"I kind of suspected that someone was spying on us. When I went to your room I heard something but I, wait! You heard me say all those things?" he asked as soon as he realized that we'd been with him in that room. I nodded and giggled at his red face.
"It was creepy of me to do so or even go into your private space. I'm s-" I cut him off by placing my lips on his.
"It was cute," I said, pulling his cheeks as our lips pulled away.
"Come on. I have to show you my surprise," he said, pulling me towards his car.
"Why are we leaving?"
"You'll love it!" he exclaimed as we sat in the car.
"We need to tell someone at least."
"They already know," he said, driving out of the driveway.
"Okay! But really, where are we going?" I asked him.
"Our place," he whispered and I understood what he was talking about. I nodded in response and he smiled at me. The one that makes you giddy.
We both sang at the top of our lungs throughout the ride.
"Wait! Won't it be late when we go home?" I asked as we stepped out of his car.
"It's okay," he whispered back. He started changing and I looked away.
"Turn around! Look at what you see," he sang and I turned around.
