It was distinct and the voice kind of felt familiar. I thought that I was hallucinating. Who could be there in this part of the woods except us? But my misconception was soon clarified when I heard the scream again. This time it was not so powerful, indicating that the person was either losing consciousness or was moving away. It seemed that it was coming from near the waterfall.
I went into the living room to find everyone perfectly good, except Ryder, who wasn't there.
"Did anyone hear a person scream?" I asked, diverting everyone's attention towards me.
"I'm sure you should visit an otologist," said Zach without even looking at me.
"No dear. I'm sure we didn't hear anything," replied Mrs. Dalsy.
I was a little bit relieved when she assured me as I know my besties, they wouldn't get up even if they heard someone screaming for help. I again went to the kitchen to wash my dish when suddenly I heard a scream again!
This time I knew something was wrong outside. I didn't bother to call anyone from the living room and stepped out of the house through the door in the kitchen with a knife in hand. I started running quickly towards where the voice was coming from.
All the bad thoughts started filling in my brain......
This might be the last day of your life!
Someone might be just acting to kidnap me!
Stop! That was me scolding my brain. I focused my attention on the voice I heard rather than my idiotic brain. I reached the waterfall in no time. The knife was still in my hand. The sight I saw after reaching there made my limbs glue to the ground and for some reason, the grip on the knife loosened making it fall on the ground.
I saw Ryder near the waterfall. He was surrounded by a pool of blood around his head. The sight made me unconscious like Ryder.
"Ryder! Wake up! Please!"
He didn't even move his eyelid. Tears started flowing through my eyes. I went running towards the bungalow but tripped over a rock and fell down.
"Ahhh!"
"Help! Andrew"
"Mr. Dalsy!"
"Mrs. Dalsy! Someone, please help him! He's gonna die!" I shouted with all my might, trying hard not to show break down completely. I slowly went towards Ryder, crawling and trying to dismiss the pain in my leg.
"Shit!"
"Ryder! Please wake up! Don't leave us! Please!" I said shaking him.
"Andrew! Zach! Someone, please help!" I said weeping.
Soon I heard footsteps approaching and before I could see who it was, my head started aching like hell and darkness started spreading in front of my eyes.
Andrew's POV
"This movie sucks!" said Ryder stretching across the couch.
"It does only when you lack some brain princess," I said.
"Fine! Mrs. Dalsy, I need a break. I'm going out to get some fresh air."
"Sure."
