I woke up with Andrew's leg on my leg. It was heavy.
"Wake up!" I shouted in his ears.
"Huh!" he said, waking up unknowingly.
"Your leg," I giggled.
He lifted his leg and went back to sleep.
"Idiot," I mumbled, getting up. I quickly had a shower and came out to see that Andrew had left.
I quickly got dressed in a simple outfit. Black jeans and a harry potter hoodie.
I went down and the others were already at the table.
"Good morning," Mom said, hugging me.
"Good morning," I replied.
We had breakfast and then Andy and I headed off to school.
"What was the dream about?"
"My parents were dying, and there was a boy beside me who comforted me," I replied.
"Do you remember this boy?"
"He seemed vaguely familiar. He may be my age right now," I replied.
"That could have been your brother," Andy said, a hint of sorrow in his voice.
"Could have but you'll always remain my brother, okay? So don't get sad that I will forget you. You'll actually have to deal with both of us if he turns out to be younger than you or my twin," I joked.
"Well, that would be 2 of you which is what I cannot handle." We both laughed.
We reached school and I met up with Zach, Syd, and Martha. They asked me if anything happened between Ryder and me which made me blush but angry at the same time. I ignored it and then went to class. 1st slot was AP Calculus and I couldn't think of how I'd talk to Ryder. I settled in my place and Ruder came and sat beside me. He did not greet or anything and unlike other days, there was no conversation between us. Ms. Dorthy entered the class and greeted us and started. As soon as she handed us the worksheet, I noticed that I had forgotten my pouch. Luckily, I did have a pen but not a pencil which was required to draw the graphs. Ms. Dorthy was really particular about the use of pencils. I asked people near me for a pencil but most of them had also borrowed from others in the class. I huffed in frustration but did not want to ask Ryder for a pencil. Seeing my frustration, Ryder put a pencil on my side of the desk. I was desperate so I took it.
"Thanks," I murmured slowly. The class got over pretty soon with none of us uttering another word. Then I had History with Martha which was pretty good and soon before I knew, it was lunchtime.
"Hello! Earth to Aury!" I snapped out of my gaze as Syd shouted at me at the lunch table.
"What?" I asked, frustrated. I was still thinking about Ryder and about my parents.
"What happened? You have been giving that look a lot," Syd said.
"What look?" I retorted.
"The one where you are thinking deeply about something," Zach replied.
"I'm adopted," I said, more like whispered so only those 2 could listen. Thankfully, Martha wasn't there and the boys were in their own conversation.
"What?" Both of them said, choking on their food.
"You okay?" Andrew asked, instantly comforting Syd who was sitting beside him.
"Yeah," she replied and I smirked at her.
"Afterwards," she lipped back.
"You're joking, right?" Zach asked.
"Nope. No one knows and it'd be better if it remained that way," I whispered back. And Syd was about to ask but I cut her off.
