Chapter 48- Millie or Martha?

Zach and Martha were flustered.

"What happened? Did you guys finally have sex?" I asked and laughed along with the others.

I could see Zach blush slightly but he recovered and his face showed a hint of anger and betrayal.

"Really, what happened? You guys okay?" I asked, going near them and hugging Zach.

"I think Martha will tell you. It's a lot to process. Actually, not Martha but Millie will tell you," Zach snorted and my eyes widened and so did Andrew's.

"Am I missing something over here?" Sydney asked, confused.

"I'm lost," Aarold and Ryder said along with Sydney.

I ignored them and continued to stare at Martha or Millie.

"Are you really Millie?" I asked her.

"Yes, I am."

"Why'd you net tell us earlier? You weren't dead," I shouted at her and she just looked down.

"We deserved to know at least whether you were alive or not. Then you could have left," I yelled at her.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled.

"Can somebody tell me what the fuck is going on here?" Sydney shouted in frustration. She never liked not knowing things.

"I'll tell you everything. Sit down," Mart-Millie said as we all settled. I was still shocked and frustrated.

"So... When we were younger, Zach, Andrew, Aury and I were friends," Millie said and all the memories of us playing together came back.

"Syd, you hadn't still moved here at that time. We used to play a lot and we were close. One day, my family and I got into an accident due to something. I don't remember. Someone came up to me and saved me. I was unconscious but when I woke up, the man who'd saved me was there. He said that my parents had died and people believed that I had died too. I kept crying for days and he took care of me. My nose was really broken so he had me do surgery and that's why the different nose shape. He'd change states a lot. I even came here when I was 12 or 13 but we left again before I could meet you. He had saved me so he said that I owed him and I did owe him a lot for everything. So when we came here, he put me in your school and told me to keep a watch on you. I told you guys I was the twin but I thought you wouldn't believe me. You actually did so I played along. I already liked Zach since we were young so I was still attracted to him. I kept a watch on you and he especially wanted to know about you," she pointed at me. I was shocked. "So I kept him updated on things. He came to know that I was getting attached to Zach so he tried to tell me to break his heart. I couldn't do that to him knowing he'd gone through the pain once. So, I maintained my distance. I couldn't spy on you guys. It made me feel guilty every time I had to tell information and when I denied to tell him, he started to abuse me. I did the only thing I could to save myself. Today, I heard him talking to some guy about kidnapping you, Aury. I couldn't help it so I barged in and he told me all the things he'd done. He was the one who put your parents into an accident and he wants some sort of revenge so he wants to kidnap you. He was also talking about his ex-wife but I didn't understand anything..." It took time to process what she said. Someone wanted to kidnap me. That person killed my parents!

"WHAT!?"

"You spied on us?"

"Aury's in danger?"

"Holy shit!"

"What's his name?" Ryder asked with his jaw clenched as he neared her.

"B-ben."
