2312 CHAPTER 036

22th, December

Bright was standing outside Win's father's work. It was snowing, and it was very cold but that didn't hinder the boy's spirit. He sat at a nearby bench and placed his hands inside his thick coat's pockets as he waited for the man to come out. An hour passed, two hours, and Bright was almost frozen to death. He patiently waited for Win's father to come out. He would eventually.

Suddenly, Bright raised his head with a cough and quickly stood up as he finally spotted him. He approached the father with a smile, "Mr. Opas-iamkajorn?"

The man glanced at him, puzzled. "Do I know you, son?"

Bright nodded with a smile. "Y-yes, sir. I'm Vachirawit Chivaaree... Metawin's old neighbor and friend."

"Ah, that Vachirawit. I remember now. How are you?"

The black-haired slightly bowed his head, offering his hand to do a handshake. "I'm fine, and I hope you are too... But I have a reason I came to your work today."

"What is it? How can I help you, son?"

"Do you know about your son, Metawin's condition...?" Bright lowered his head, not knowing how to continue or how the father will react. Mr. Opas-iamkajorn though only nodded, not saying a single word which surprised the boy.

"Yes he has cancer, and he is dying. I came to find you..." he coughed afterwards. "So, uhm yeah. I-i came to find you today, because the doctors think that these are his final days..." he gently grabbed the older man's hands. "Please go visit him. His only last wish is to see you, it won't hurt you to visit him for just 5 minutes, right? So please, I beg you."

Win'a father didn't budge an inch. Not even his facial expression had changed. He was serious as usual. Bright coughed once again, maybe he had caught a cold while waiting outside for so many hours. That's the least thing he wanted to have right now given his situation with Win. The boy let go of the man's hand and let out a sigh, lowering his head.

"You are not going to see him, sir? You are going to let him die without seeing you just because he prefers men over women?" Bright couldn't hold his laugh, he had enough of Win's father. "It's not such a big deal as you make it seem so. In America, I had so many homosexual friends, they weren't bad, they were accepted into their family. Why are you like this though? Why are you letting your own son suffer? Your wife and daughter are forced to lie to you in order to see Win. Don't you love him? Is he not your son anymore?"

Silence once again. The man was not even responding back to Bright anymore. The boy closed his eyes and took a deep breath, glaring back at the father "I see... that you don't care at all. Well if that's the case, then have a nice day Mr. Opas-iamkajorn, sorry to disturb your homophobic ass." he said and turned to leave, his hands being inside his pockets again. It was no use talking to him, Bright stayed out in the cold for nothing, he really regretted going there.

Not a few steps after the black-haired had made, he felt a pair of hands touching his shoulder. He turned back surprised, only to face Win's father once again. "Yes?"

"He is still my son no matter what his choices are. But I can't forgive him yet, son. I still need more time."

"Will you be ready when he will already be dead? I'm telling you, sir, the doctors said that these are his last days."

"I-i'll think about it, my son."
