'Rosie's dinner' with its red neon lights reflecting against the shiny pavement, it's perfectly hidden between the trees on the side of the road. As if it had been planted here just for us, the perfect hideaway.
"We're here." He snaps me out of my thoughts, making me look at him, then back outside.
If the neons weren't so bright you'd miss it, it looks a little worn out but also really inviting.
"I love it." I smile, looking at him and then getting out of the car. He's on my heels as I walk inside the dinner, the crook of his elbow meeting the back of my neck to hold me close as we walk towards a booth next to a window. The diner is empty except for two men sitting at the bar, they look pretty tired so I'm assuming that they must've been driving all day long by the two trucks parked outside.
He let's go of me when I sit down, before sitting himself on the same bench as me. I look at his side profile as he grabs a menu from the table, the pad of his fingers toying with his bottom lip and his eyebrows slightly furrowed as he reads.
"Do I have something on my face?" He asks with his eyes still focused on the menu, and I look away when I notice his smirk growing, fumbling to grab the menu in front of me and looking at it with my cheeks a shade of pink.
"No, hum, sorry.." I feel his arm surround my shoulders as he scoot closer, looking down at me as I pretend to read but the image of his red lip between his fingers is the only thing I can see.
His hand slide to the side of my face, his arm still around my shoulder and nudges my cheek to make me look at him. I look up at him through me lashes, biting on my own lip.
"What?" I ask and he looks down at my lips, smiling to himself.
"Kiss me."
"I already did." I roll my lips into my mouth to stop my grin and he tilts his head to the side, raising his eyebrows. And I bring my face closer, his nose nudging mine and our lips barely brushing together as I look into his eyes, my pulse racing in my ears.
"I thought you liked me huh?" He grins and I narrow my eyes at him.
"Shut up." I whisper before folding our lips together, my eyes furthering shut. He slides his fingers against my scalp along with his tongue on my upper lip, making me part my lips to feel it against mine. He hums against my lips, making my belly tumble again and again at the noise, and I cross my legs under the table, our knees now touching.
"Ready to order lovebirds?" I break away from him to see a waitress standing at the end of our table.
Purple hair perfectly curled under a waitress hat, dressed as if she had just jumped into the future from the 1960's, but with an electronic tablet clutched in her perfectly manicured hands, her nails are what catches my eye next. Long, and a shade of violet that almost makes my heart clench, with two small sunflowers painted on her ring finger nail.
It was mom's favorite color.
"Sorry.." I mumble, looking down as Harry chuckles and looks up at her.
"She'll have the chicken burger with fries, and... a raspberry milkshake?" He says, looking at me with puckered lips and narrowed eyes and I laugh, nodding my head.
"Right on." I smile at him.
"And he'll have the cheeseburger, fries too and a Coca Cola." I look at him for aproval and looks at me with narrowed eyes, I bite on the tip of my tongue, thinking extra hard to get it right.
"And extra onion rings." I add and the corners of his mouth dip down in an impressed manner. I look up at the sound of her nails tapping against the screen, my eyes gazing down at her name tag. 'Liv'
