Shoto, Katsuki, Hitoshi, Denki, and Ejiro are all Mers and are a pod together. They live in a cove/lake thing that is connected to the ocean through a series of cave tunnels (Humans in this world know Mers exist, but they don't usually interact with them much)

Izuku is human - He comes across the cove that the four mers live in by accident. He was exploring the surrounding forest and came across it.

The mers stare at him in shock - They had never come in contact with a human before so they were curious as to what he was doing in their territory (There is going to be a language barrier between Izuku and the Mers for a while)

Izuku is about to leave because he doesn't want to upset them by being in their territory, but before he can Bakugou lunges at him and drags him into the water.

Izuku freezes in shock as he's dragged into the water and is like 'OH SHIT I'M ABOUT TO FUCKING DIE-' when Bakugou shoves him no a rock that's in the center of this cove thing and starts sniffing and prodding at him (Mers are a little more animalistic in this AU then what I've seen in others)

Izuku is kind of flustered and a little uncomfortable by this and then the other three join in on this - making him even more flustered.

Izuku lets them do almost whatever until they are satisfied by their examination of him.

And then they bite him - It's not supposed to be a sign of aggression or displeasure, its the opposite actually. They are laying claim to Izuku by biting him - Izuku knows this because he took some extra courses in his first year of HS

One of them was Basic Mer Culture & Habits - Another was Anatomy (Mer, Human, and Animal anatomy was studied in there) - And the third was Intro to Magic & Brewery (Because I'm a sucker for magic Izuku)

Izuku now has to come back every day to appease the mers, if he doesn't he'll feel bad and it will cause the mers problems as well

(I need to add more to this and I will later - Suggestions are open as well BTW)
