Izuku sat next to the kid on the edge of the roof, both their legs dangling off the edge. No sounds other than the ones of the city's nightlife muffled by the distance.

No words were spoken between them, the only thing reminding the two of the other's presence were the bluffs of air, visible due to the cold late autumn air.

"I was like you once." Izuku spoke, breaking the fragile air around the two, "I was like you. I felt hopeless, like no one was there to listen to me, like I was a burden to everyone I ever interacted with."

Izuku turned his head to looked at the kid next to him, who stared at him with wide disbelieving eyes, "Your the number one hero, why would you ever feel that way?" The kid questioned in a quiet, but agitated tone.

Izuku let a small, sad, reminiscent smile form, "Because I wasn't always the number one hero." He answered, "I was once a kid like you, like everyone else, and I didn't always have this quirk that everyone thinks is so great. "

The kid raised a brow signaling for the hero to continue speaking.

Izuku sighed and looked away from the kid and towards the sky that held fewer stars than he knew was out ther due to the light pollution of the city around them, "When I was a kid I was deemed quirkless." He said, hearing the kid cry out a small disbelieving gasp, but paying it no mind, "No one though I would ever get a quirk, not even myself." He said looking back towards the kid, "My quirk didn't appear until I tried out for UA in the entrance exams. That was the first time I ever used it, and it was a disaster." He chuckled.

"Why?" The kid asked curiously, they wanted to hear more, about the hero's life. It was interesting  in a different way than they first assumed.

"I shattered both my legs and my arm, to save a girl that was trapped under some rubble from a fake villain." He said a gentle smile still on his face.

"I know things may seem hopeless and bleak now, but things will get better, as long as you put in the effort." The hero said.

"Don't jump. You have more to live for than you know." The hero said standing up, reaching a hand out for the kid next to him, "I want you to remember something."

The kid looked up at the hero that towered above them. To them and everyone else, he looked like a gid straight out of a mythological story, "What?" They asked in a near silent whisper as the gravity what they were about to do finally hit them, as well as the full realization of who they were talking to settled in.

"You are never a waste of space,  time, energy,  or anything else." He said gently, "Because out of all the creations and people the universe could've made, it chose to make you." He continued, "We are all the universe expressing itself in a unique and beautiful way, even if we ourselves cant see it. Remember that, when you feel hopeless."
