Hanahaki X Soulmate AU

Izuku and Bakugou are soulmates, but that doesn't change how Bakugou treats Izuku. If anything it makes it worse, but not for the reasons you think.

"You know you always get sad on days like valentine's day or when people find their soulmates. Why is that?" Ashido asked. The test of the class (and some of the teachers) wrte in the common room, a thing like they weren't listening to the conversation, but were also bad at hiding it.

Katsuki sat there for a moment before pulling up his shirt sleeve and showing Ashido the greyed out name of his soulmate.

Ashido's eyes widened, "You're soulmate is.."

Katsuki nodded sadly, "He's gone and it's all my fault."

"What do you mean?" She asked.

Katsuki took a deep breath, "Izuku and I have known each other since we were babies. We were inseparable. Until I got  my quirk and he was announced quirkless.."

"I became really crule to him as a way to deter him from becoming a hero. It got worse after we got our soulmarks. We were soulmates, but I didn't treat him like everyone else treated their soulmates. Instead of being nice to him and apologizing for everything I.. I became worse to him." He admitted.

"Even so, he still loved me. He was in love with me. No matter how much I hurt him, called him names, or whatever other horrible shit I did, he continued to love me."

"He ended up getting Hanahaki, but kept it hidden. He never confessed to me and no one knew he even had it until he collapsed in class. Before he ambulance even got to the school he was dead. The name on my arm was grey."

Katsuki wiped his eyes, his classmates were horrified and in tears, "I tried to push him away because I didn't want him to get hurt by trying to become a hero, but all that did was get him killed."

"I killed my own soulmate." He said, "That's th he reason I'm always sad and angry when someone finds their soulmate.."
