Izuku, as we all know, is quirkless. In this AU he never got OFA, he never met anyone at UA, and he was alone all throughout highschool.

On his 18th birthday, he goes to a tattoo parlor and shows the artist all of the drawings he brought. All of them are pretty detailed and involve rainbow as a color pallet in some way.

There are 3 drawings in total. A heart that looks like cracked glass, A lotus flower, and a Pheonix wings.

The heart is going to be tattooed on his heart. The lotus is going to be copied and put on both wrists, and the wings are going to be the biggest Tattoo he has and I'll take up his entire back.

The guy asks if Izuku is sure he wants to go through with this. Izuku says with confidence that he is 100% sure about this.

During the tattooing process the question of why Izuku is getting the tattoos came up:

"What made you decide on these?" The artist asked.

Izuku smiled sadly, "My entire childhood and even now I've been alone. I've struggled with depression, anxiety, and even developed a fear of people and fire because of past trauma." Izuku started, "Every time I was ready to end my life I would force myself to sit down and draw something somewhat complex and make it rainbow so it would take longer to make. These pictures are the reason I'm alive right now."

The artist early stopped at that, but kept going. They wanted to ask more, but didn't want to be rude. Izuku knew what they wanted to know though,, and was ok with sharing.

"That first drawing I made in my last year in middle school. My ex-best friend told me to take a swan dive off the roof of our school." He admitted, "That was the reason behind the wings."

"The lotuses are from the beginning of my second year in Highschool." He continued, "I was in a really bad place because my mother was hospitalized with a really bad illness. The doctor wasn't expecting her to live, and without her, I had no one to live for, lotuses were her favored flowers."

Izuku by this point was crying, as was the artist, "The heart is from a few months ago when my mother passed." Izuku said, blinking tears from his eyes, "As soon as I heard I just wanted to end it all, but I didn't. She would've wanted me to live and make the most out of my life. And that's exactly what I intend to do."

The artist finished up the last tattoo, Izuku was about to pay, but the artist stopped him.

"We in the tattoo industry have a saying, 'Earn your tattoos'. I would say you've more than earned yours." The artist pulled Izuku into a hug, "I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do man."

Izuku left and went to college, He trained in heroics, Had basic EMT training, and support training. He went on to become the world's first quirkless hero.

The Symbol of Hope: Prism.
