Chapter 24

One thing I know for sure, Liam Arsenault is a big fat ass flirt! He uses his every opportunity to flirt with me and I'm so mad at myself for always falling to his trap. He'd call me saying there's something we have to discuss in person and then suddenly I'll realize that he only wants to score a date with me once I get to our meeting place. Saan ka nakakita ng business meeting sa cruise ship?Ugh!

Mukhang sinasadya niya ngang gawin iyon dahil kapag diretsuhan niya akong niyaya, alam niyang tatanggi ako. Kaya gagawa siya ng palusot para mahuli ako sa bagay na hinding hindi ko matatanggihan.

He's kind and gentleman, yes, but I don't like it every time he's seducing me. I appreciate his chivalrous acts but I won't be shaken by that because someone has my heart. I've lost it to him the moment I lost myself.

Nagising ako nang marinig ko ang pagring ng cellphone ko. Umaga na pala at sa sala na ako nakatulog dahil sa tinatapos kong project. Pinatay ko muna ang Wacom Cintiq na nasa ibabaw ng coffee table pagkatapos ay sinagot ang tawag. Tiningala ko ang wallclock sa kabila ng pananakit ng aking leeg. It's almost a quarter to twelve!

"What can I do for you, Sir?" I asked, trying to be as polite as possible.

"I've been calling you for hours but you're not answering your phone. I thought something bad happened to you and I really wanted to go and check on you but I don't know where you live. You won't tell me your address."

"You don't have to worry about me, Sir. I'm totally fine. I just fell asleep while doing my work." I answered while walking to the kitchen. I grabbed any food that I see on the fridge. Pagkatapos ay lumapit sa counter para magbrew ng coffee.

"That's why you need someone to accompany you so you won't tire yourself."

"And that someone is you?"

He let out a bark of laughter on the other line. I can almost imagine him choking and blushing like a tomato. "Come on, ma chérie! I'm being nice here. Go grab the opportunity!"

"No thank you, Sir. I can manage myself."

I blinked my eyes twice to see what's in front of me clearly. My vision is getting blurry. Probably because I just woke up.

"If so, would you like to grab a drink with me?"

"Suddenly? Your tactics has changed now, huh?"

"Because you always refuse my invitation! I figured you'd like me being straight forward." I can sense his frustration. Natawa ako.

"That's because I told you already that I'm not interested in being your woman. As you can see, I don't have time for that. But you keep pushing your luck as if that would change anything."

Kumagat ako sa aking toast bago naglakad pabalik sa sala para tapusin ang naantala kong trabaho. My place is a huge mess right now. With parcels and mails piled up at the foyer, I think I'm going to have a hard time tidying up space.

"Then give me a chance and we'll see if I should give up after that."

I sighed. He really won't stop bothering me. And so I agreed.

We went to a pub in Portobello later that night. It's my first time going out to have some fun and socialize since I got here months ago. As soon as I moved here, I only focused on my job and became busier than ever that I had no time to live the way I lived my life back in Manila. I have responsibilities now that I'm independent in all terms. Tumakbo ako papasok sa sobrang excited. I can hear Liam laughing behind.

We ordered a bunch of foods and when it's time for the drink, Liam gave the menu to me and let me order my thing. I chose Jack Daniel's. I don't have plans on getting wasted tonight. Hindi naman sa jinajudge ko ang bawat galaw ni Liam, nag-iingat lang ako. Lalo pa't mukhang may balak itong magpakalasing ngayong gabi.
