In a cave below the city, in the early morning hours, the desk sergeant stands before Eloise and a group of women in robes.
The desk sergeant tells Eloise, in a weird 'I've been spelled' voice, "I've done as you've asked. I've woken them."
Eloise gasps in surprise and says, "At last. My sisters, it's so good to see you again. Now it's time to reclaim what was once ours." She turns and leaves the cave to continue putting her plan into motion, leaving the cop to stand guard over the women.
A few hours later, as the sun is coming up, Jade stirs awake on the couch and stretches. Her phone buzzes with an incoming text. She picks it up and reads the text from Colin.
If you ladies are up, I'll come make breakfast for all of you. - C
I'm up. I hear Tilly moving around her room. Lily's still asleep but I'm sure she'll wake up soon. Give us a half hour and come on over. - J
See you in a half hour love. - C
Jade got up and knocked on Tilly's door. When Tilly answered she said, "Colin's coming over to make us breakfast in a half hour. Then we need to move some more stuff. I'm gonna take the day off work to take Lily shopping. Do you want to come along?"
"Nah. I'm going to meet Margot later. What's he making?" Tilly replied.
Jade shrugged her shoulders and said, "Heck if I know. I don't even know if he can actually cook. I know he can grill but I've always done the cooking in the kitchen. Guess we'll either be really surprised or really sick." She chuckled at that and so did Tilly.
"Let's hope for the sake of our stomachs it's the first," Lily said from the doorway of the other bedroom.
"Let's hope," Jade agreed. "I'm jumping in the shower." She quickly showers and dresses in jeans and a green tee shirt and sneakers. She's pulling her hair up into a ponytail as she walks out of the bedroom to find Colin in the kitchen whisking something in a bowl. She walks over and grabs a coffee cup and pours herself some coffee. She raises her eyebrow up as she eyes the bowl in front of Colin.
"Blueberry pancakes, bacon, and at Lily's request, sausage links as well," he told her.
"Wow I'm impressed. You can cook," she said to him, taking a sip of her coffee.
"Why do you sound surprised, love? I've had to feed myself for a few years now and before that - well you know who," he said quietly, nodding his head discreetly towards Tilly.
"True. Anything I can do to help?" she asked.
"Nope. I've got it all under control. Why don't you pack some more boxes up and I'll call you all when the foods ready," he replied.
"Okay. Oh before I forget - I'm taking the day off to take Lily shopping. Tilly has plans to meet up with Margot later so she won't be joining us," Jade told him.
"Okay sounds good," Colin replied. "Don't forget to call the station and tell them."
She pulled her phone from her pocket and said, "Was just about to do that." She walked away, smacking his butt playfully as she passed him.
"Hey!" he exclaimed. "I'll get you back for that later."
"Promises, promises," she said, laughing. Then she made her phone call to the station to let them know she wouldn't be in, which wound up being a longer phone call than she planned on because she had to speak with the captain to explain why she wouldn't be in and her new foster kid situation.
When she finally got off the phone, she began packing up her books and movies on the bookshelves until Colin said breakfast was ready.
Once the four of them had sat down and filled their plates, Colin said to Jade, "That phone call took longer than it should have. Was there an issue?"
