Letters to Chanyeol

Letter 18

Dear Chanyeol,

I know I told myself I wouldn't write to you anymore, but I failed that miserably. When I was alone, I would see my pen and paper and the next thing I know, I was writing you a letter.

I know that the fastest way to remove you from my heart was meeting new people. So I did. Working at a company gave me a chance to meet and try to go out with different people.

The first person that got my attention was Sehun. He was my workmate. He has better stats than you. He came from a prestigious school and he had better goals than you. He was smart, funny, and kind. So I know if I ever end up dating him, he would be an upgrade unlike the girl you followed. Ops. Sorry not sorry.

Sehun and I have a weird connection. We like to tease and bully each other but we could talk about serious stuff too.

We talked about life. He told me he studied medicine but he realized that it wasn't for him so he shifted to our industry. What I liked about him was that even if he was goal-oriented, he lived at the moment. He would invite me to try out new things and explore life, like how it should be.

He somehow helped me let go of my sad aura. Instead of just going home after work, he would ask me to eat dinner and play games. Yes, he was a gamer like you. We tried out various games and he would tease me a lot whenever we lose. He made me go outside and enjoy life. He made me realize that life is too short to cry for someone who did not care about me.

He was the ideal boyfriend. Good stats, smart, family oriented, fun, and handsome. He was basically a better you. But what you have that he doesn't was that you can make me forget the world whenever you talk to me.

One call or smile from you could make me happy in an instant. While Sehun did everything he could, I guess I wasn't healed when he came into my life. I was too hurt to be happy. I was too scared to let someone enter my life again.

You give me the feeling of having a home. Having someone I can go to whenever I'm sad. Sehun was a fun guy but what we had was nothing compared to us. No matter what he did, he would never be you.
