"Maeve Falcon." I told the small creature behind the desk inside the huge bank. He looked over his glasses at me.
"You don't know your mothers full name?" He paused and looked through a few papers again. I shifted nervously. I knew it wouldn't be easy since I just had her last name. "This Must be your Lucky day Miss Falcon, i think we have it. Ophelia Dolores Falcon, she died a year ago, sorry for your loss...is that correct, Miss?"
"Yes it is, Sir" I answered. I followed him deeper into the bank and in front of a huge metal door he asked me how much I would like to take from my mother savings. I quickly ran through my head how much I possibly needed for Lunas and my school supplies and a little extra money. I wanted to buy a gift for dad, he wasn't my real father of cause, but he felt like one. He was always there for me and stood behind me and my decisions and loved me like I was his real daughter. I wanted to give something back to him.
"Can I take a look?" I slowly asked pointing towards the vault. He nodded and opened the heavy door. Inside was a table with a lot of gold on it. A huge amount like that I had never seen before beside the desk were a few suitcases and other bags with money from different countries and more gold in it. I guess my mother had travelled a lot. I stepped inside the vault and carefully looked around, I never had thought of that nor dreamt of that. I decided to save most of the money, but I still wanted to be a little extra today, not only for me but for Luna, my dad and the twins. I picked up some gold chunks and stuffed them into my leather bag, but before I did so I turned around towards the goblin.
"This is all yours, Miss" he said and tried to sound as nice as possible. It was clear that he was annoyed, like it was usual that people found out that they were kind of rich everyday.
After I had collected everything that I needed, the goblin and I returned back into the hall of the bank. And I said good bye and made my way out of the bank where I found Luna. She was smiling at me and noticed my still a little shocked expression. "What happened?"
"I guess my mom was rich" I answered and a smile appeared on my face. We both giggled and I grabbed her hand and we made our way towards our first stop, where I would get a new, properly fitting uniform.
After I found my new uniform which finally fitted me and I felt confident in Luna met a few of her friends from Hufflepuff outside of the store. It surprised me that we met other students, because most of them were not so early like us when it came to picking up school supplies. We were quiet early and didn't met many other students.
I decided to give her some alone time with her friends so that I could focus on my gifts, I told her to meet me at the clothing store again by six pm.
This gave me enough free time to buy something for her, the twins and my father and I needed to pick up a few books for my classes. After we parted ways I walked through the streets and stopped in front of a very colorful store, it was mostly selling jewelry and clothes. I decided to take a look inside, maybe I would find something for Luna. I looked around and after a while I found a beautiful pair of earrings that were dirigible plum-shaped. They looked very cute and they glistened in the light. They seemed perfect for her since it was quiet strange and out of this world, it fitted her. So I decided to buy them for her and was pretty confident about my decision.
After looking around a bit I felt that I was getting hungry and made my way to Rosa Lee Teabag, but when I nearly was there I stopped in front of the store window of Madam Malkin's Robes for all occasions. The store was selling uniforms and formal dresses. And one of these dresses was displayed in the window I was now looking through with an open mouth. That magnificent dress was a dream come true. I originally never planned to go to the yearly Winter Ball at Hogwarts, but maybe this dress was making me. The dark blue seemed like the night sky and the dress even has little silver stars all over it. The dress was poofy and tighter at the chest and waist area. It had a deep v-neck cut and a slit for one leg. It had short sleeves that got wider at the end and on the shoulders part were more silvery detail that looked like a small flower field and matched the silver belt, that cinched the waist.
I couldn't stop myself from walking into the store. I don't want to sound dramatic but this dress seemed to drag me towards it. And after I put it on, went out of the changing room and looked at myself in the mirror I gasped for air. This dress seemed like it was made for me, it hugged me in all the right places and it made my ginger hair appear like fire. I had never felt more beautiful in my life and I just stood there and stared at the mirror.
