The next morning my roommate grace woke me up, I didn't hear our alarm, since I only slept for four hours. I quickly jumped onto my feet and made my way into the bathroom to splash water into my face in the hopes this would wake me up. It didn't quiet work and looking into the mirror I saw that I had dark circles. I just hoped no one would notice and quickly got changed.
Grace watched me and just laughed at me, since I wasn't really able to do anything, because I was too tired. "What did you do last night?" She asked me and continued laughing.
"Not much, I just went out for a walk since I couldn't sleep" I lied.
"Aha, I understand" she said with a wink."just give me his name..." she begged.
"No, it wasn't like that..." I answered, but found myself smiling at the thought of last night. It felt so romantic and our conversations were awesome, he listened to everything I said, remembered everything I told him, he was so interested...
She noticed that I smiled and laughed even harder. "Oh c'mon! I can see that something happened last night...please tell me. I promise I won't tell anyone" she begged. I know I could trust her, but we weren't really the closest friends and kind of lost the contact during my exchange year. "Maybe later " I just answered and winked at her. Before I would give her more information I needed to connect to her again...I could never tell her it was about Remus, but I wanted to tell someone how awesome yesterday was...
She nodded and after I collected my books for the day we went down to the hall and ate breakfast, I sat down next to the twins, even though she was asking me to sit with her, but I knew that I had some explaining to do.
"Before you shoot me with questions, I am alright, don't worry. Nothing happened. No one caught me and here is the map." I said before they could ask something and handed them the map.
"We wanted to look for you after you were gone...what happened?" They asked anyway.
"I just continued looking at the map, and since the map shows everyone I obviously wasn't caught or noticed by anyone" I lied and they nodded.
"You look tired" Fred asked me again and handed me a coffee cup.
"Thank youuuu" I answered and bowed down like he just saved my life. "Well yes, I am tired. I am not used to standing up early, during holiday I could sleep so long, right now I would do everything to sleep one hour more..." I said and made a sad face. They giggled and gladly stopped asking. Before class was about to start I went into the kitchen to make myself my favorite thing in the whole world, matcha. I loved this drink so much and always made it myself in the kitchen, I was addicted.
After I finished my drink and made my way to my first class with was astronomy with professor Sinistra. I had this one without the twins, so it was pretty boring but I got to spent a little more time with Grace. We catched up on some things and worked together. My next class was Divination with Professor Trelawney. I wasn't a big fan of her, but I continued talking to Grace. It was much fun when she told me what happened last year and I told her about my exchange year.
"This sounds so cool" she said after I had described her the school I had visited in America.
"Nah, it's nothing compared to our school" I told her. "I mean we really study in a real castle!" I said and we chuckled. Trelawney walked into the room and the class went silent and looked at her.
"Welcome to your first divination class of your fifth year! Today I decided that we will do something very exciting" she told the class and I intentionally rolled my eyes at her. For some reason I was annoyed by her, the way she spoke or that her class wasn't something you could learn...or maybe just because I was still tired.
"...we will take a look into your future" she said with a celebrating tone. I looked over at grace and she seemed very excited.
"We will do tea leaf reading!" She continued like she was hoping for another reaction, the other students just stared at her, most of them were just as annoyed by her as I was. The other half y excited.
"On page 156 you will find the instructions and everything you need is already on your tables in front of you. You will work in pairs, so your partner is going to help you read the tasseomancy." She finished and walked towards her desk and signaled us to start.
Grace and I worked together and began with reading the page and followed the instructions. I made my tea, drank it an before I was near the bottom I swirled the dregs around three times. The textbook said to have a clear mind before I tipped the remaining tea into the saucer. I tried my best to focus my mind. While the cup was upside down I needed to count to three again before I turned it back over. When I looked inside my tired mind was only able to see a bunch of dark dots.
Grace was already staring into her cup and was seeing things, she tried to show me what she was seeing at the bottom of her cup.
"This looks like a House, don't you think?" I just nodded, she was right but I wouldn't have seen it myself. "Look what it means" she told me and I took a look into our book to look what a house meant.
"A house: Change, success and your house will win quidditch on Saturday" I read out loud. "Well, gladly we are in the same house" I commented.
"That's awesome! You see this, doesn't that looks like a sun...?" She continued. I looked it up and read it's description.
"Sun: Great happiness! Spend this time wisely"
"That's so cool!" She answered and I looked outside on,y to see tat it was raining. I looked at her and motioned her to look outside and laughed at her. "Well...What does your cup say?"
"I dunno" I answered and shucked my shoulders. Suddenly Professor Trelawney was standing behind me and as she started to speak I let out a small scream.
"Let me see my dear" she just said and took my cup. "Oh...oh..."she said while she closely looked at the tea leafs. I rolled my eyes and noticed that many other students were looking at us.
She leaned forward to show me and Grace the insides of the cup. "This right here is a cloud, Grace my dear would you please look it up and read out it's definition"
Grace took the book and looked it up. "A cloud stands for sadness and loss. And that trouble is on its way..." she explained. She looked at me with pity in her eyes.
"Oh! This, this right here is a heart..." Trelawney continued. "This means that our dear Maeve is in love..." she told the whole class and was smiling at me.
"Marvelous" I just replied ironically. I didn't really believe her words, even though the meanings of the tea leafs probably weren't too far from the truth...
The class caused my mind to circle around one particular question for the rest of the week... was I falling in love with Remus?
