"Class dismissed" Professor Lupin said over the laughter of his happy students when the class ended. He walked up to my desk and looked at me with a serious expression.
"Except you, Miss Lovegood" he said and I turned around to the twins with a questioning expression. Remus smiled at the twins and motioned for them to leave the room, which they did. After everyone had left lupin began walking around the class.
"Why, Professor?" I asked him hesitantly.
"Did you already forgot, you got yourself into detention" he explained and continued walk eine, not facing me.
"Oh" of course I remembered it. "But I thought that Professor Snape would-"
"No, your detention is under my supervision" I sighed in relief.
"Good, I had already feared that-" I said but he interrupted me again.
"Don't get your hopes up..." he answered and turned around to face me. "I won't go easy on you."
His words caused a shiver to run down my spine and my face heat up. My heart started beating faster when he began walking towards me. I nearly forgot to breath when he stopped right in front of me.
"But tell me, Maeve..." I felt another shiver when he said my name. "...what did you do to get yourself into two weeks of detention?"
"I might have...insulted Professor Snape" I stuttered and dared to look into his beautiful eyes. I noticed a small smile, that he couldn't hide, forming on his lips.
"Sit down" he demanded and walked away again. With a flick of his hand a chair flew into the free space in front of his desk. I did as I was told.
"I don't regret what I said and I would do it again, Sir" I stated truthfully, which caused him to turn around with a curious expression. He started to walk around the chair I was sitting on.
"Tell me what happened" he ordered.
"Professor Snape said I didn't knew the answer to his question, but I actually did. So I stood up and answered the question correctly and he took points from my house, for speaking without being allowed to and he said my answer was wrong. Which is ridiculous, I know for fact that my answers were correct" I told him. Remembering that moment I felt the anger growing in me again.
"What was the topic?" He asked.
"Werewolves" I answered and heard that he stopped walking and was standing now behind my chair.
"And what get you into detention?" He asked again.
"I said that werewolves are human beings, that just happen to be infected by lycanthropy. But that this doesn't mean that they should be treated like monsters and that they don't have an aggressive nature. I told him, that they can be really kind and loving...unlike him" I answered Remus and I could almost hear him smiling behind me.
"Do you really think so?" He asked after a while and started walking again. I thought for awhile, if my theory about him being a werewolf was correct this was really personal to him.
"Yes, Sir. I think it is unfair how they get treated by society. They shouldn't be feared, they just need help and acceptance to live a normal live, like they deserve. And besides, I think it is a huge problem that teachers like professor Snape and the press portray werewolves as generally evil to young students...this only causes them to believe this crap." I explained truthfully.
He walked around me and I looked at him to see a reaction. His expression was a mixture of confidence and curiosity. "So you are not afraid of werewolves?" He asked me.
"No, Sir. I know that they can be dangerous after they transform, but everything they do is not themselves, they can't control it. So I don't think they should be blamed and feared..." I explained.
