Chapter 34 | Hogsmeade

The past few days a thick layer of beautiful white snow had covered up the castle and the land surrounding it. Today would be the last visit to Hogsmeade for this year and everyone seemed to be really excited. Many students took this opportunity to buy Christmas gifts and dresses for the upcoming winter ball. The students were running around the inner courtyard and searched their friends before heading off to Hogsmeade. I was standing next to Grace and waved at Luna, who had met up with one of her Hufflepuff friends.

"Maeve" Grace said and tapped on my shoulder to get my attention. She pointed towards the twins, they were standing in the doorway and seemed to look for someone. We walked up to them.

"Hey" I greeted them and they leaned forward so I could understand what they would say.

"As you saw last time Harry isn't allowed to go" Fred explained and I nodded.
"And we thought that"
"We could help him"
"With the map"
"With the map he can use one of the secret ways" the twins told me.

"Alright I will get the map" I told them and turned around to Grace. "I am sorry, but we want to help Harry get to Hogsmeade-" I began to explain to her.

"It's alright, don't worry" she interrupted me and smiled understandingly. "We will meet each other at Gladrags wizard wear at noon, alright?"

I nodded and smiled at her, before I headed back inside the castle and got the marauders map out of my room. As I walked back into the courtyard nearly all students had left already. I walked up to the twins and they told me that Harry would probably try to sneak out with the invisibility cloak, so they waited until we sighted footprints in the snow. The twins grabbed him by his arms and brought him to a hidden staircase.

"We will show you a quicker way"
"If you pipe down"

"Come on guys..." Harry tried to argue.

"Now Harry...come and join the big boys" the twins said in unison and took his cloak off.

"What are you doing?" Harry hissed. We shushed him and I looked around to check if we were alone before I handed him the map.

"What's this rubbish?" Harry asked and I scoffed.

"What's this rubbish he says" I repeated and turned around to the twins and rolled my eyes.

"That there is the secret to our success"
"It's a ranch giving it to you, believe me"
"But we have decided you need it greater than us...Maeve if you will" the twins told him dramatically and motioned for me to activate the map. I took out my wand and pointed it at the blank map.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" I said clearly and tapped onto the paper. The map activated and the doodles and words appeared.

"Mooney, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs are proud to present...the Marauders map?" Harry read out the words.

"We owe them so much" I stated. Harry opened the map.

"Hang on...this is Hogwarts" he said surprised. He sighted Dumbledore, who often paced in his study. "So you mean this map shows-"

"Everyone" the twins finished his sentence.
"Everyone?" Harry asked in disbelief. So the twins continued explaining the map.
"Everyone"
"Where they are"
"What they are doing"
"Every minute"
"Of everyday"

"Brilliant" Harry said excited and looked at us. "Where did you get it?"

"Nicked it from filches office of course"
"First year"
"Now Listen, there are seven secret passage ways out of the castle, we would recommend..."
"This one" the twins told him in unison and pointed at the hidden way on the map.
