Chapter 16 | Golden Snitch

I walked towards the Ravenclaw tent where some of my teammates had already began warming up.

"Lovegood!" I heard someone shouting my name in a cold tone. I looked over, the voice came from the Slytherin tent and I saw Draco Malfoy. He was guarded by his minions, I walked Dover and he motioned them to go away.

"I don't want to hurt you or harm your pretty face, so I suggest you to do my thing up there and don't even try to get in my way." He hissed. I just rolled my eyes at him.

"Keep on dreaming, Draco" I told him. "I surely won't give up the golden snitch" he scoffed and I continued "but wait I actually wanted to talk to you" I remembered that I needed a Slytherin to get me the book I needed to get more information about the Black family. "I need your help to get me a book that probably is in the Slytherin tower" I asked him in a nicer tone.

"Why should I help you?" He hissed. "What can I get from that?" He questioned.

"What do you want?"

"Let me win th-"

"No not that one" I interrupted him and rolled my eyes. "This is a Team Sport, I can't decide that on my own"

"Alright, let me think of something else. I will talk to you if I have something" he told me and rolled his eyes. I went back to Grace and she helped me getting ready and motivated me, like we used to do before my exchange year. It was this time I realized that I had missed her.

"And remember to keep your focus...I know you haven't really had a match for quiet some time. But you are really good at your job, so I trust you to win this match for our house, Maeve!" Grace said while I was stretching my arms.

"Can we make a deal?" She asked in a lower voice and stepped towards me. I stopped and looked at her. "If we win this match, it means that the tea leaf reading was right...so if Ravenclaw wins, you will tell me who you fell in love with.."she stated and smiled.

"Then I guess I will lose on purpose" I answered.

"Ha! I got you! That means there is someone!" She said and celebrated her victory. Bloody hell she really got me...

"Here comes Slytherin!" A loud voice said over a microphone on one of the towers surrounding the field. That meant the match was about to began. I quickly jumped onto my broom and began to fly right over the ground.

"Alright, Grace." I said and gave her a quick nod. She nodded back.

"And here is the Team of Ravenclaw!" The speaker continued and our tent opened and we flew out onto the field. We rose high enough so we were on the opposite side of the Slytherin team. Some of them were already glaring at us.  Since I was the seeker I was flying a little higher than the other teammates, just like Draco, since he was the seeker from Slytherin. He looked at me challenging.

While the speaker continued talking about the rules I searched around through the crowds. I saw Fred and George, they were standing next to Harry, Hermione and Ron. All of them were cheering and waving at me. I waved back and looked to my house mates and saw Luna and Grace both of them were smiling at me.

Then I saw Remus. He was surrounded by a few other teachers and smiled at me. My heart jumped at the sight of him. And i returned the smile and tried to focus on the match again. Seeing him and his smile really motivated me for some reason.

"...the first match of the season starts...now" the loud voice screamed and the crowd stared cheering. The golden snitch flew up in the middle of the field and Draco and I only catched a small  sight of him, before he was gone again. I flew around and looked for the small golden ball.

Over half of the match was done when I saw the snitch again. I immediately flew right after it, Draco must have noticed and he followed me. Ravenclaw was currently loosing so this was probably the only chance for winning. Dracos broom was newer and faster than mine, but I had better control of my broom. Both of us flew after the snitch and we came closer and closer. I reached my hand out since it was only centimeters away from the golden ball. Draco was trying to tackle me off my broom, but I kept my focus on the snitch.

It only was millimeters away from my hand, i looked over where Draco had been before, but he wasn't there, where was he? I reached out my hand further and felt the gold with my fingertips.

Suddenly something hit me really hard in my side, causing me to fall of my broom. The last thing I remember was that I tightened the grip of my hand around the small golden ball...
