"Good morning," I flinched when Gael placed his hand on my shoulders. Natawa siya bago naupo sa harapan ko. Nasa Cornelia kami. Mag b-breakfast. He smiled and tilted his head. "Puyat?"
I rolled my eyes and traced my eyebags using my fingers. I yawned and looked at him as he stares at me. Tinignan ko siya ng masama. Mas tinignan ko pa siya masama ng kindatan niya ako.
"Ano oras ka ba kasi natulog? Hindi ka pa natulog nun, 'no?"
I pouted. "I was thinking about my grades."
"I told you, makakapasok ka. Ano ka ba..." he said.
Ngumiwi ako. "Ganiyan din sinabi last quarter. Hindi naman ako nakapasok... Thoughts to things, thoughts to things pa..."
Natawa siya. "That's because you're doubting!"
Ngumuso ako. Gusto ko talaga na makapasok ako. Not just for Gael, para sa akin din. I know that I did my best this time... Kaya sana makapasok na talaga ako. Kasi kung hindi? Ewan... I'll see myself as a disappointment trash again, which is not right.
"Okay, bili lang ako," he said before nuzzling my hair. I smiled and watched him walk away. When he came back with those pancakes and coffee, the first thing that he said was, "Chill ka lang, ano ba. Makakapasok ka..."
I pursed my lips and smiled at him. It was a fake a smile because I was so anxious. Kagabi 'yung iniisip ko ay 'yung tungkol sa grades ko, ngayon pati 'yung pag l-legal ko sa parents ko about sa amin ni Gael.
On Gael's side... Most of his family already know about me. I don't know if they know me as just Abreu Gayle, Gael's crush, or as Gael's girlfriend.
Buong araw ay 'yun ang gumugulo sa utak ko.
Pero sana nasa good mood si Mama ngayon. Sana mapapayag ko siya sa grades ko... Si Papa kaya? Kung okay lang sa kaniya? Mapapayag niya kaya si Mama?
No. She's Audrey.
"Honor si Abreu," Andrew said. Tinignan ko siya ng masama. Ayun din 'yung sinabi niya last quarter! "Promise!"
I know I should not believe to what Andrew said. Pero dahil gustong gusto ko na talaga 'to. Ewan, may parte sa akin na umaasa na sana tama siya.
"Alonzo," Miss Diane called. Nagtaas ako ng tingin kay Zoe habang nakangiti. She doesn't seemed to be bother if ever she'll be an honor student or not.. Habang ako, eto... Kinakabahan na talaga at gustong gusto 'to.
I was shaking the whole time. My heart was pounding in my ears like a warning drum. My lip was almost red because of my biting.
"Rafael," Miss Diane called. Denise stood up.
It wasn't in alphabetical order that made me more nervous. Hindi ako ready.
"Canapig," tawag ni Miss Diane kay Andrew dahilan para magpalakpakan ang mga kaklase ko. Hindi ko din napigilan ang mapangiti kahit kinakabahan ako dahil sa napaka OA na reaction niya. His eyes were already naturally big, yet he's making it more bigger.
He took his card and faced us. Nakatingin siya sa card niya habang nakangiwi. Napa-facepalm siya at dahan dahang napaupo habang umiiling. The whole class.
Pabida talaga. He then, stood up and smiled at Jaeden. Waving his hand before saying, "Tall, may eighty ako! Isa! Sa Values!"
Natawa ako.
"Jeon," Miss Diane called. I pursed my lips kasi feeling ko ako na ang susunod. Parang sinusunod sunod ni Miss kaming lima.
Jaeden stood up and accepted his report card. Tumalikod siya pero kinalabit siya ni Miss.
