D-6: Soulmate
•Jimin drove the car without really wasting a single puff of breath to speak. He didn't know how and where to start. It felt like it has been over a decade that he last spoke to Taehyung. It's not like he didn't wish to end the tension between them, it's rather he felt scared that the brother of his didn't want the same.
"So are you gonna speak?" Taehyung starts. Sliding the glass down to rest his elbow against it, Taehyung looked outside to the moving trees and houses to save his glance from Jimin.
He then somehow manages to gain the courage to glance to the driver. To be honest, none of the males minded the silence. Oddly it was comfortable. But that didn't mean like they were planning to remain like this for the entire journey.
"So..."
"So..."
With a last sigh, Jimin abruptly stops the car. He rushingly faces Taehyung, "Okay I can't take this! Can we actually talk and end this?! I hate it!"
"Please! Can we actually? I hate this even more!" The other male speaks with the same desperation in his tone.
Both blink twice while staring at each other before they curve their lip up and smile. "It was that easy?" Jimin asks. Immediately after both males fall into the loudest, uncontrollable laughter. Holding their stomach, mouth wide open whole the head fell to back of the seat.
They laughed until their jaw hurt and eyes getting tearful. "Wah! You're such a dick." Taehyung comments.
"Likewise asshole!" Jimin replies.
"Why didn't you come to me before?!"
"Well, I can ask you the same isn't it!" Jimin blames back. They both laugh again, the atmosphere settled into a much lighter one.
"Let's get out of this car," Taehyung suggests. Jimin nods before sitting straight to park the car somewhere.
"We're in the middle of nowhere. We have to stay in the car." Jimin informs. He turns his convertible car into a roofless one to forecast the clear sky with a peeping moon in the corner. Pushing their seat slightly at the back, they stare up to the beautiful sky.
Both males shared a comfortable silence again. Breathing the crisp air, both felt the calmness spreading in their body. "So not to be cheesy or anything but I missed you," Jimin finally says.
"Oh come on, you love being cheesy!" Taehyung snickers, "And yeah I missed you too!"
"You do know that I love you right?" Jimin suddenly begins. "My plan to leave the country was long cancelled. Y/n made me realise a lot of things and one of those were how family don't keep tabs on everything. In fact, she's the one who urged me to talk to you about my feelings. But, before I could, you somehow found out everything."
"Jiminie, you're my family and you always been. Even when we weren't talking, you still were part of my life and family. I don't know since when you felt like a burden but I wish you talked to me about it then I could've assured you how much you mean to me and what I feel about you."
Jimin closed his eyes, remembering all the times he felt heavy-chested every time Mrs Kim would go out of her way to take care of Jimin. In a way, he knew she always tried to make him feel home and took extra attention to him, way more than Taehyung. Just so Jimin could never feel like he wasn't loved. Yet, here he was taking all the love as community labour.
"I'm sorry. I really am." He sighs. He was tired of everything. Tired of his distance from his family, distance from you.
Taehyung didn't say anything other than coming forward and embrace him. "Don't be. You do know that family is beyond blood. Mum may not give birth to you, but she loves you unconditionally. Please we are your family. Don't pay us for taking care of you."
