Cassy
I couldn't believe my eyes. I was in the middle of processing everything that was happening. I stumbled inside my house and locked the door behind me. I'm being followed. I tossed the envelope on the table and made my way to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water.
"Oh my gosh." I spoke to myself. I checked my phone if there were any message from unknown number but there was none.
I sat myself on the couch and thought anxiously. I can't seem to comprehend who might have had the heart to do this to me. I scrunched my forehead and thought long hard but there wasn't any occurring to me.

I was on my way to a restaurant to meet with a representative from Valley Publishing. They were trying to get me a contract with me after I left Prime Books. It was the first appointment I have confirmed out of all that reached out to me.
I arrived at the restaurant and scanned through the place to find who I was supposed to meet. A woman wearing eye glasses and ponytail waved at me, which I assumed to be a sign that she was from the company.
I head on over and sat on the spare chair across her. I took my glasses off and smiled at the woman.
"Thank you for the appointment, miss West." She acknowledged me.
"Okay, talk me through." I positioned my hands on the table, purposely lending her all my attention. "I'm all ears."
"Okay, miss West. We at Valley Publishing, are very much delighted for allowing us to take this chance for us to introduce our company to you." She started.
"But before we get into the details, let me introduce myself first. I am Venice, Valley Publishing's chief editor." She extended her hand out to me so I gladly shook it.
"I'm Cassidy West."
After that small introduction, she proceeded to the details of the company and the potential contract I was to sign if ever we were to agree on terms.
"We would like to offer you seven years on the contract, Miss West." Venice held out a contract to me, with the clause about the seven years encircled. I took a look at it and nodded.
"Hmm seven years?" I thought as I scanned through the copy. "I'll think about it and get back to you if I've decided already." I tapped on the paper and passed it back to her.
She nodded and said. "Looking forward to that Miss West!" My phone beeped and I excused myself to check who it was.
Unknown number: Hello, Cassy! : )
Me: Who is this?
Unknown: Oh, it's Ellis! I forgot you didn't have my number.
Me: Yup, wait a while. I'll save you to my contacts.
I tapped on buttons and saved/added his number to my contact. Me: Done. I put my phone down to fix my focus back to Venice in front of me.
"I think that's all for today. I'll see you when I see you, miss!" she gleamed at me, we both parted ways as I go out from the place.
I received another text from Ellis.
Ellis: I see you.
