Cassy

"What?? Leah's engaged?" I spoke through the phone in an exhilarated tone.

"Yes! Apparently, Rider popped the question to her last night. She said he prepared all these cute set-ups at a rented place and some flowers on the floor to propose. She posted her engagement ring on Instagram, you haven't seen it?" she questioned,

"You're forgetting that I don't spend too much time on social media these days.." I remarked,

"Oh right, yeah." Her pitch fell. "Anyway, you know how Leah loves him so much, before he could even open the box to the ring, she said yes right away." She added,

"Oh my gosh! I'm so happy for them! Didn't Leah mention before that they were high school sweethearts??" I gushed, pressing the phone intently against my ear.

"Yep, they were. They had a fall out until final year in high school but got back after college. Talk about fate." She confirmed to me,

I hummed, "Hmm, they were meant for each other after all."

"When's the wedding??" I eagerly asked in anticipation, inching from my seat.

"She said they still haven't talked about it.. but soon?" Sarah answered from the other end, "Either way, I'm so hyped up for the two of them!" she said, joy evident in her voice.

"Same here! Oh my gosh, someone's finally getting married and I finally get to attend to one—and it's my friend's!" I blabbered, bouncing in my seat like a child.

"Next up, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Heed." I joked at her,

I heard her snort and say, "You and Ellis might end up marrying each other sooner than Mike and I for all I know." She shot back, giggling.

"In your dreams, Sarah. In your dreams." I rolled my eyes as if she was in front of me.

"By the way, speaking of Ellis. Does he know about Mark's feelings?" she suddenly asked and the atmosphere changed in a snap.

"I haven't told him but I think he's suspecting something." I bit on my lower lip, harder than I would usually do which implies how stressing the topic was for me.

"Wait, how??" she questioned,

"We sort of had dinner the other day.." I went on,

I heard her gasp from the other end of the line, "The three of you??"

"Yes," I slowly said,

"And without me??" she responded, which actually made me feel taken aback, I wasn't expecting her to say that.

"What." I bluntly stated,

"I'm just joking but wait, WHAT? Wasn't that awkward??" she suggested,

I shift in my position and grab a pillow, "It was, I swear Sarah it was the worst! They couldn't stop glaring at each other even though they tried to give me sweet eyes from time to time," I groaned, just thinking about what happened is giving me goosebumps.

"Girl," she spoke,

"What?"

"I can just clap for you if you were here with me because, wow. Two guys are actually head over heels for you." She mused,

I groaned, "That's not the point, Sarah."

"Yeah, yeah. I know. So, how did Ellis react after?" she came back to her serious monotone,
