Cassy

I quickly looked behind my shoulder to check who the person was and true enough, it was Ellis. He was smiling almost curtly to me as if being all professional because we were at work. I caught him mouth to me a 'good luck'. The encounter didn't last long because as soon as I acknowledged his presence, he stepped to excuse himself and go to his quarters.

I continuously walk towards the elevators as I was met by assistants. They all greeted me a good day and introduced themselves as people who will give me a brief tour around the place. The place is huge, even bigger than my previous companies which really indicate that they were earning a lot.

The people were modest enough to give me a smile along the way. "This is where our copyeditors are designated. We have a total of fifty people on the team. Next room is for the Marketing Team headed by Landon." Jessica, who introduced herself to me earlier, now introduced me to Landon who basically did a little curtsy before me and offered his hand to shake.

I gladly took it and chuckled, "I'm no royalty, treat me as is." Jessica lightly chuckled beside me as she clasped her hands together. We proceeded to the next hall and I took notice of the label "Public Relations Team".

"This," she presented, "is Public Relations Team, we have different departments for the marketing and PR. The PR team was just recently added thus, the job opening this year." She explained as I calmly divert my eyes towards the people working in front of me.

Technically, if whispering against each other's ears was considered work then sure.

Then my eye caught sight of Ellis by the copy machine trying to fix something. His long sleeves rolled up to his elbow and hair slightly ruffled—was it wrong that I found it completely attractive?

When he stood up and faced my direction I tried to snap out from my trance and focus my eyes back to Jessica who was doing what she was supposed to. Minutes later, we finally arrived to Mr. Smith's office. Once the glass door opened and I stepped foot inside, I was instantly met by two grown men smiling widely at me—capitalists smile if I must add but eh.

Anyway, the man who was behind the desk with a label 'President' must have been Mr. Smith. "Miss Cassidy West." He recited my name as if it was a poem and clapped his hands together.

I smile kindly at him and shift my eyes to the other man who was seated across me, "Please have a seat." He eagerly motioned his hands to sit me down.

"Ah, finally. Miss West, we've been so eager to have you here with us." Mr. Smith started as he lowered himself down to his seat.

"So am I, I've heard lots of good stuffs about Blue Ribbon." I nodded and smiled curtly.

"We hope they were all good to account." The man across my seat said, "Brian Waters." He reached his palm out for me to shake which I gladly took.

"Wouldn't be here if they weren't." I said,

"Shall we cut the chase and proceed to the signing of contract?" Mr. Smith offered,

"I have no problem with that." I smile at them. The three of us all stood up and Brian quickly rushed to guide me outside the space, which I might add made me a bit uncomfortable as he placed his hand on my arm—rather rashly.

I notice the atmosphere grow warmer as I was led into a function hall. As we got nearer, I start to hear chatters from people.

"Do we have a crowd?" I anxiously turn to Mr. Smith, trying not to let my anxiety show. I've been in front of crowds but I didn't know we were supposed to be signing contracts in front of people.
