Cassy

I shifted around the bed as the light seeps through the thin blinds that covered the curtain. My eyes slowly take notice of the atmosphere and I try to sit up. I rested my back on the bed's head and suddenly remember a scene of Ellis and I by the sea.

I brush my fingertip across my lips as I recall Ellis attempting to kiss me—he didn't though. Instead, he rested his forehead against mine and brushed his nose against mine. My finger went up to my nose and tap it lightly as I try to feel the dream.

I felt goosebumps rise on my skin at the dream I had. I shut my eyes close and let out a whimper as I squirmed on the bed. Did I seriously wish for it to be true??

Cassidy West get yourself together.

I heaved in a breath and puffed a strand of hair from my face.

I lifted myself and dragged my body out into the living room.

"Morning, Nana." I greeted her as she was wiping the table.

She looked up to me, "Someone's having a good morning. Good morning, dear." She chuckled and softly shook her head.

"What do you want for lunch, dear?" she asked as I glanced at the clock, it was already ten.

"Lobsters?" I suggested.

"How'd you like it?" she asked further,

"Any way," I shrugged and she nodded.

"Go call your friend and ask him what he wants."

I scrunch my eyebrows, "Friend? Who?"

She stared at me as I blinked innocently, trying to comprehend who she's referring to.

"Do you prefer boyfriend?" she teased which brought me into more confusion. I was about to ask her when a familiar voice answered my question.

"Nana, someone's looking for you."

I was facing my back to the door so I had no sight of the person but the voice I recognized in particular. I slowly turn myself towards the door and saw Ellis standing there with a small smirk on his face.

"What are you doing here??" I breathed out, so it wasn't a dream! It really happened.

I felt my cheeks heat up as he answered, "What do you mean?"

"I'll leave you two lovebirds alone." Nana chuckled and disappeared from our sight.

"Why are you so shocked to see me?" Ellis gave a curt smile and walked nearer to me. I shook my head and waved the topic off.

"Nothing." I made my way towards the kitchen to grab myself a glass of water. I grabbed a stool and sat down in front of him.

"She's kind." He gushed,

"Who? Nana?"

"She is." I nodded and stared at her who was outside. The kitchen had a door, more like an emergency exit so I could see her from here.

"This is a nice place you've got here." He complimented, darting his eyes across the interiors. I followed his gaze and took the time to take in the grayish walls complemented with paintings of how cities looked like then. The interiors weren't quite much though, just simple. I slowly lay my gaze back to Ellis whom I caught staring.

"My mom sort of purchased and modified the place so that whenever she felt like she needed a break from her vicious company, she comes here. Since we didn't have a family near us." I explained to him.
