Cassy

We locked eyes, it was really him. He was standing there like the last two weeks didn't happen.

He walked near to me to help and pick up my belongings. I snapped out from my trance and proceeded to picking up everything that was on the ground. I stood up silently and walked away.

"Hold on." Ellis held my arm. "Why does it seem like you just saw a ghost?" he interrogated.

"I thought you were one for a minute there." I muttered under my breath.

"What?" he raised his eyebrows. His grip on me didn't falter as he spoke again, "Are you mad at me?"

"No, no I'm not. Why would I?" I said with half a spirit.

"Where are you heading to?" he diverted the question.

I brushed his hand off of me and then answered bluntly, "Home."

"Why are you being so cold, Cassy?" he scrunched his forehead at me.

"I am not cold." I said, rolling my eyes back at him.

"Oh, see! You just did it again." He accused widening his eyes.

        "Whatever, Ellis."

"Is there something wrong??" he asked me.

"I don't know, is there supposed to be something wrong??" I crossed my arms in front of him.

His facial expressions softened, "Is it because—"

"Cassy!" Sarah interrupted Ellis mid-sentence. He closed his mouth as we both were left to stare at each other's interrupted state.

"Let's get going—oh! Who's this fine gentleman here?" Sarah asked to me, raising her eyebrows as she slowly turned to me waiting for a response.

"I'm Ellis. Cassy's friend." He addressed himself.

     Right! Friend.

Sarah shook his hand and narrowed her eyes at Ellis. "You look awfully familiar.." she traced. "You never told me about him, Cassy." She spoke slowly.

"Oh.. We met weeks ago." I broke my gaze. I was supposed to tell her how the both of us met but I think it would be awkward and weird since my first memory of him was waking up in his apartment.

"And?" she stared intently, "Anything special, I need to know?"

"Nothing, we just met. How normal people do." I shrugged looking away.

Ellis scoffed, I abruptly landed my eyes on him and gave him a sign that it wasn't the right time to tell people how I miraculously woke up in someone else's bedroom, someone I do not know in the least.

"So.. Ellis. My friend here never told me about you. Mind if the three of us talk and catch up over a cup of coffee? My treat!" She offered.

I nudged her elbow, signaling that she had to stop because it was embarrassing me by the minute. "Sarah."

"Shh." She shushed me! The atmosphere was getting pretty hot, why did Sarah have to do this, help. Ellis glanced at me but I tried avoiding his eyes.
