Cassy
"Cassy."
"Cassy," Sarah repeated before me as I gradually snap back to reality.
"Hmm?" I shifted my eyes towards Sarah who was anxiously waiting for me.
"I just asked you about Ellis." she stated,
"What about him?" I asked,
"I meant what happened last week. The flowers and everything. Did you resolve any conflicts?" She bombarded.
"We're fine. Everything's good." I simply implied. Which was true because ever since that night we were at his office building rooftop, we've kept close contact with each other.
We would see each other more often, without the 'coincidence' intervention. In fact, we were supposed to meet tonight for dinner.
"Is there anything else you might want to share?" Sarah ushered.
"Hmm, nothing much." I replied while I check the emails on my laptop.
"You're going to see him today, huh?" She teased knowingly.
"How'd you know?" I fixed my eyeglasses and stared directly at her. Does she have superpowers or what? I thought to myself.
"I have no superpowers but I could tell by the glow you have lately and the text he just sent you." She stated shoving my phone in my face.
"Hey!" I took the phone from his hands. "Who told you to snoop on others' phone!"
She shrugged and said, "You're not giving me answers. Besides, chill I didn't open the message I just saw it on the screen."
"That makes no difference and you know that." I glared at her. She rolled her eyes at me in mock defense. I slide open my phone screen to check Ellis' message
Ellis: I'll pick you up at seven?
Ellis: Well technically not pick you up since I have no car. I'll just wait ny your gate then
I smiled softly as I type my response in.
To Ellis: okay, then. See you!
I put down my phone and move to save my manuscript then closed it. I stood up from my seat and ran up the stairs,
"Where you heading?" Sarah called out from the couch?
"To prepare." I chirped, I continued to go up to my room and hurried to fixing myself. He'll be here in an hour so I need hurry a bit.
What will I be wearing anyway? He didn't tell me where we were going either. I stood in front of my wardrobe for a while. I need an outfit that says I didn't expect him to bring me to a five- star restaurant or a sidewalk store.
Just understand the content I put up there, it doesn't mean otherwise. I settled on a white skirt and a flowy mustard yellow top. I was supposed to wear a trench coat anyway since it was humid outside.
I head to the bathroom so I could wash up and brush my teeth. After doing so, I fixed myself into the outfit I prepared. I took my purse and slung it around my shoulder.
I went down the stairs only to see Sarah sprawled across the couch. I sat myself down next to her.
"Wake up," I slapped her leg.
She opened her eyes and groaned "There's another couch there. Go sit on it."
"Are you bossing me around in my own house?" I told her,
