Ellis

"So the company is preparing for the grand turn over that will take early next year, which will be exactly eight months from now." Brian, the team leader for this project spoke sternly in front of us.

It's been only a week since I landed this job, in the Public Relations Team, this is the first official conference I attended.

Brian started assigning specific works on each of the team. The list was kind of long and our team still wasn't being mentioned.

As Brian kept enumerating the jobs, his voice started to grow faint as I got lost in my thoughts. I remembered our day out yesterday. Cassy, I meant. We called it a day earlier than expected because apparently, the company called me in.

It was bummer to send Cassy home like that, I mean, we were only getting to know each other after a couple of coincidences I also didn't want her to think that I was stalking her or some sort. I wonder when I would be able to see her again.

"The most important piece of the puzzle here is, we need to get someone aboard. One of the most known writer of this generation." Brian's voice interrupted my little spacing out there.

He suddenly turned to me, "And that's what I'm assigning you, Mr. Clarke."

Cassy

Okay.

She takes her dog out for a walk then what's next, Cassy? Gosh, this writer's block was killing me.

It's been days since I last worked on this and nothing was coming out from my head. I took my glasses off and ran my fingers through my hair while groaning. This was frustrating. This is the worst part of being a writer, the mental blocks. I hated it the most.

You know the feeling of just stopping in the middle of a story and there, you just look like you forgot how to write then and there. Which is a bad thing when it's your source of income and your passion. I sat there in front of my laptop for another ten minutes but I wasn't getting anything.

I gave up and stood up to take myself towards the kitchen to see if there was anything that I could eat but when I opened my fridge. I only realized that I ran out of milk. I needed to have milk because it was my breakfast since I just have a brunch meal when I have work.

I decided to head over to the convenience store to buy some milk for I had nothing else better to do anyway.

I went to my room to get my purple cardigan and went out. The store was just three blocks from my house so I could travel by foot.

The temperature outside was just fine but thankfully I was wrapped enough. I started strolling by the streets, carefully darting my eyes around the place.

It was by now that I just realized that I did not know who my neighbors were. Wow, okay five years of living here and all I knew was Mary, the friendly old lady who would walk her dog during the mornings. Apart from that, I didn't know anyone.

The sun was just about to set and I suddenly remembered the other day at the cemetery and how I dozed off on Ellis' shoulder. I felt my face grow hot as I shook the thought away.

I arrived at the convenience store and saw how the cashier was preoccupied. I think she was watching something. I turned my head and saw that they were watching the movie that was playing.
