Some Thoughts

Test Me- Melanie Martinez

"I think it's amazing to think about how far she's come and how amazing she really is. Even if she's popular, I still thing the true meaning behind her songs and emotions is underrated and far less appreciated than her aesthetic. I've been around since Crybaby, and I relate so much to her songs that I could cry. Her music holds such a strong, powerful, deep and meaningful lyrics that should always be taken into account, whether you consider yourself a Crybaby or not. Melanie always speaks from her heart and encourages everyone to be true to themselves and the people around them, but to also be kind and considerate to others and moreover to love themselves for who they are and to be as strong and powerful as her influence in our lives.

To think about how much and how long she's worked for what she has and even more isn't even fathomable. Melanie is as much of a work of art as her music. Even if you already do, you should respect her for who she is and the positive messages she puts into people's hearts. For some of us, we would not be who we are without her music to guide us and give us hope and happiness. At least, that's how I feel about her music.

My personal message is to never downplay yours or anyone else's emotions and beliefs and to be in-tune with who you really are and to never make the same mistake twice and to live without regrets. Please do nothing more than to love yourself first and foremost and take steps to become a better person tomorrow than you are today.

(EDIT) I also can't stress enough how I think the hate towards people finding music through tiktok is disgusting. It's rude and it's toxic and it makes you just as bad as the people you claim are fake. You do not own an artist and you did not "discover" them. No matter whether or not they're popular, they do not deserve to be kept "underground." That artist you claim to care for wants to grow and you're not allowing them to do so. I understand that when people use their song for clout, it hurts those of us who have long since loved the artist from whom of which have been bullied and teased countless times for loving them. But we can't continue calling ourselves true fans and good people if we tear down others who really do want to be apart of the fandom and feel loved. Last I checked, that's not what being a Crybaby is about and a lot of people have lost sight of that. I'm not a perfect person and I was upset that people who had hurt me for loving Melanie were using her song in a way that I didn't like, but I quickly came to realize that there's no reason to be toxic about it. And tiktok also gives people the opportunity to find music they will come to love and respect the artist, so it's really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. And if it were really an issue, I'm sure Mel would have spoken out about it by now.

You're really not loving and respecting her or her beliefs by denying people the right to appreciate her and her music, no matter whether or not they stan her, or if they only listen to one or two songs. None of us have the right to deprive someone of something they love and enjoy. As Crybabies, you should know that more than anyone and should be promoting that above all else."

Also, a few have asked how I came up with the new name for my user.

So, Initially, the plan was to call myself PorceleanPumpkinPrince, but it got too long, so I took out the Prince part.

I also thought about something that had to do with the color black to counter the whiteness of porcelain because black is a beautiful color, seeing as I am black and I obviously support people of color.

Black is beautiful too. White people do not own beauty, even if they are still systematically a standard for beautiful people.

(I just now realized I spelled porcelain wrong in the name, but I like my spelling better.)

I knew that it HAD to have something with pumpkin in it. It's the fall season for me, and autumn is my favorite season with my favorite holidays, particularly Halloween.

With the Prince part, I originally told myself that I had to stick with a theme like my previous 2 usernames. (the 3 name theme. Bo4nd4rrow, LittleSeaUrchin.)

But I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a prince because of my never-ending gender chrisis, so I also had the thought of PorceleanPumpkinRoyalty. Both seemed like a good fit for me.

I also thought of RoyalPumkin and PumpkinRoyalty, but it didn't feel the same.

There were a lot of names I came up with before settling on the one I have now, but I can't remember them all to tell the truth. I hope this answers some of your guys' question. If not, I dunno what to tell you.
