"Um, mom..."

Fairy Godmother turned around to see her daughter.  She had been writing down the lesson questions on the board.  The same ones used on with the other Vks.  "What is it, dear?"

"Umm...  Varian hasn't been present for any of his classes.  Except for science, but he's basically disappeared," Jane explained.

"Oh my...  Do you know anything else?"

"No.  Carlos us looking in all the places he his when he first started coming," Jane answered.

The two were in the hall.  "Well, did we check the bathroom.  It's possible he may have had another episode with his peanut allergy or maybe became in contact with it again."

"I'll run and... wait.  I don't handle sick people very well..."  Jane frowned.

Fairy Godmother opened her mouth to speak, but the sound of a sneeze made them both freeze.  They looked at the broom closet and then at the floor where papers and books were scattered and a stray,  empty  backpack tossed to the side.  With the key, FG was able to open it.  The light from the hall slammed onto Varian's face and eyes, causing him to cover them with his arms.

"What on earth?"  Fairy Godmother exclaimed.

Varian coughed, slowly getting out of the mop bucket.  He groaned from the soreness of being stuck in the uncomfortable position for hours.  He cracked his back once he was standing straight and began to stretch.  "I thought Aurodon was just full of perfect little princesses and princes," he spoke sarcastically.

"Did somebody do this?" Jane asked.

"Three.  No clue who.  I thought this was reserved for Vks only."

"I'm so sorry.  Do you need to go to your dorm?  You have my permission," FG offered.

"I'll take you up on that," Varian muttered.  He bent down, picking up his items.  Jane and Fairy Godmother helped him.  He didn't thank them, due to never being taught to use manners.  Neither of the two blamed him or were offended.  They understood.

Varian entered his room, slamming his math book on the table.  He looked at his wrist with his watch.  It had his father's initials because it was a scrapped prototype of Syndrome's that was thrown out.  Varian had taken it and fixed it up.  It was one of his few inventions or creations that he actually got to keep, but the letter engraved on it made him think about his father.

*Cue Music*

You know my mind starts to wander
Standing here alone

He looked up, looking out the window across with the blinds closed.

You know I dream in color
And do the things I want

The teen walked to the window and pulled the blinds up.

You think you've got the best of me
Think you've had the last laugh

There was a view of the school grounds.  He watched teens walking around the campus.

Bet you think that everything good is gone
Think you left me broken down

Varian closed his eyes, swallowing.

Think that I'd come running back
Daddy, you don't know me 'cause you're dead wrong

Memories passed in his mind.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger

Syndrome punched him, making him flip over the couch.

Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

Varian huddled in the corner of the basement, shivering in the cold.

What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over 'cause you're gone

Him and Cassandra sneaking out.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself, and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone...

Cass, Shawna, Percy, him, Uma and her pirate crew having a bit of a party.

You heard that I was starting over with something new

Varian showed Syndrome a new prototype to one of his creations.

But told you I was moving on
I'm over you, yeah

Syndrome smashed it against the wall.

You didn't think that I'd come back
I'd come back swinging
You tried to break me, but you see

Varian sank to his knees trying put the peices back together, his body shaking as tears formed in his eyes.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

Him and his father having a huge argument.  Varian shouted standing his full height, but Syndrome shoved him.  He stumbled backwards.

What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over 'cause you're gone

Varian caught his balance and threw one of his tools laying on the desk at his father.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger

Syndrome dodged the tool and grabbed his son's wrist.

Just me, myself, and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger

Varian's father then slammed him into the wall, boxing his ear.

Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

When Syndrome released him, he sank to the ground.

Thanks to you I got a new thing started
Thanks to you I'm not the broken-hearted

Varian shook his head, blinking back into reality.

Thanks to you I'm finally thinkin' 'bout me
You know in the end the day I left was just my beginning
In the end

Varian stepped away from the window, looking back at the room.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger (Stronger, yeah)
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

Varian grabbed his notebook, flipping the pages until he found his new model design for the TILL.

What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over cause you're gone

He began scratching out the calculations in his notebook.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself, and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger

All the numbers raced through his head.

Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

When I'm alone...

Varian lifted his notebook to get better view of his design.  He smirked.

Note: So, I thought this song fit for Varian's character story.  I took out the double chorus ending merely because it just wasn't necessary to write that in.
