Since that day I chased Caius on the way to the building, the number of my haters grew and is continuously multiplying. Nakakaloka.
But people also recognized me easily because I am from the theater club and I am the daughter of the famous Antonio Dawson na palaging usapan dito because of his career talks, sponsorship and such.
Isa pa, madami din akong nakilala noong mag acquaintance party. Mostly, seniors from the theater club. Yvonne, Clara, Kobe, Kuya Lay, they are the few ones from the higher years that became my friend, too. Indeed, lumawak talaga ang circle ko since the party despite of not being able to attend the welcome party for the theater club members, sa video call lang nila ako nawelcome.
There were times that it kind of made me anxious because having a huge circle means it's harder to keep my relationships tight to them. But well, expected ko na din ang mga taong inggit at galit sa akin. Halos walang days na lumilipas na wala akong naririnig na something off from the people around me. It doesn't bother me anymore, I got used to it.
Like was it my fault? It was Caius' choice to ignore me but he didn't. Sabagay, people would still hate me because they're not me and they wanted badly to be in the spotlight like where I am right now.
Mainggit lang sila, cause I'm gonna live my life the way I want it.
"Are you going to attend the events tomorrow?"
It's a Sunday and tomorrow's the start of the University week. Madaming events per day pero hindi naman required but it's the most exciting event in the school that everyone is looking forward too. May sports competition, field demo, club performances, academic competitions, parade and music festival. Lahat naman niloolook forward ko but I don't think I could enjoy that much.
"Kapag sa theater lang. Ikaw? Kasama kayo sa opening line up right?" I asked casually,
She put the glass back on the tray before facing me.
"Bakit? Kasi magaling?" I asked, she nodded again.
I twisted my lips. Oh, so she's actually good if that's the case.
"Edi dapat mas galingan mo," I said. Niña laughed.
"Hindi naman competition ang performance bukas.."
Gosh, this is why I hate her. Masyadong mabait, e. We're so opposite. She could always give way while I can't.
"But that doesn't mean na you won't do better na. Don't let anyone take over the position you have right now," I said without any hint of humor.
She's one the best dancers in the school right now.
"I know.. but I also want to give chances to my apprentice. I can't always take the best seat, Keesh," she explained.
I sighed and rolled my eyes before I take a deep breath to swim. I reached the deepest part of the pool and swim back to Niña's place.
