Once upon a time, a girl was born. An adorable baby with bright blue eyes. Her mother looked into her eyes with the most love and adoration as she held her brand new baby girl.
Her father, seeing what they had brought into the world, was brought to tears along with her mother.
The Roger's had waited for this day, the day she was born, the day their one year old son had a sister.
Her name was to be Evie.
The moment was magical, but there was something about this little baby girl that was odd.
On her wrist, was a mark, a tattoo of some sort. A thin sideways oval shape, with two dots, one on top and the other on the botton.
The father, baffled and confused at this...the mother, only smiled more, placing a loving kiss on the babys forehead.
She new what it ment, but had no intent on telling anyone...knowing what could happen.
Her mother was infatuated with ancient myths, she always believed them.
Her father knowing nothing about them, his wife never talked about it, it was her own personal world and liked to keep it too herself.
And her favorite myth of them all, was an ancient story...The Gifted.
The Gifted were ancient beings, they had uncanny abilities, only one with the mark, possess these.
But there was a catch, people wanted that power, use it to their advantage.
So the Gifted had died out...thousands of years ago...
But in the myth, it was said that another child will be born, a child with the mark, no matter a boy or a girl.
They will be known as The Last Gifted.
But this is no ordinary fairytale...this baby girl, as she grows, will have no idea what she possesses.
She will never expect what will happen when she runs into a boy, a boy who is not ordinary, just like her, but for different reasons.
This story does not start out happy, it begins with tragedy, a moment that will live with young Evie forever, and more than one moment at that.
