Delaney jolted awake to a loud popping noise beside her ear. She turned, ready to grab her wand in an instant. She almost screamed when she found Fred standing over her.
"Fred? What are you doing?" she yelled.
"Waking you up of course. It seems I'm the only one that had the guts to do it," he laughed with an amused smirk, his hands tucked in his pockets as he leaned forward on his toes.
"There's a reason no one tries to wake me up, you know," Delaney groaned, placing a pillow over her ear in the hopes of getting more sleep.
"Yes, but you see it's almost time to leave for the World Cup. And well, if you aren't up we'll have to leave you," Fred said, slightly leaning over the bed.
Delaney sat up abruptly, throwing the blanket off of her. She took Fred by the arm, dragging him out of the room, "You should have said something sooner. Come on, let's go."
"Um...Delaney," Fred interrupted as they passed the door to Ginny's room.
"Yes?" she asked, turning to him.
"Don't you need to get dressed?" Fred asked, pointing to Delaney still in her nightwear.
"Oh, right. Well you go on then and I'll meet you all downstairs," Delaney said, now walking back into Ginny's room. She looked in the mirror at her cotton sleep shirt and shorts feeling bashful. Fred had just seen her in her nightwear. Wait, why did she care? This was Fred Weasley, she'd been friends with his brother since they were eleven. Not thinking too much of it, Delaney began to get ready.
After several minutes of trying to find the clothes she picked for today, Delaney finally got dressed. She put on a pair of jean trousers, a green shirt to indicate she was rooting for the Irish, and a simple white clip to hold back the top half of her blonde hair. She quickly made her way downstairs after brushing her teeth.
"Hermione!" Delaney smiled excitedly as she hugged her friend she hadn't seen in months.
"Oh, it's so good to see you," Hermione smiled in return.
"More like nice to see she's in regular clothes now," Fred laughed.
"Very funny," Delaney said, rolling her eyes as she smiled.
"Alright, Weasleys, friends of Weasleys," Mr. Weasley paused as he let his eyes roam over the group of children that would be accompanying him, "It's time to go."
The walk to the portkey was long yet entertaining. Delaney and Hermione talked with Ginny nearly the entire walk. Delaney had grown to like Ginny a lot more than she had in the previous years. Granted releasing a basilisk her first year at Hogwarts had impacted Delaney's view of her, but she rather enjoyed Ginny's company now.
"Arthur! It's about time son," said a strange man Delaney had never seen before.
"Sorry Amos, some of us had a bit of a sleepy start," said Arthur, looking back to Harry and Ron. Delaney let out a little chuckle, as well as Fred and George at this comment. Even though Fred made it sound like everyone was waiting on Delaney, Ron and Harry hadn't even woken up by the time she made it downstairs. "This is Amos Diggory, everyone. Works with me, at the Ministry."
Just then a boy, about the age of Fred and George, seemed to have jumped down from a tree. A strange place to sit no doubt. "This strapping young lad must be Cedric, am I right?"
"Yes sir," Cedric said with a grin, shaking Mr. Weasley's hand. Ginny, Hermione, and Delaney gave each other a certain look before they continued to follow the group. He wasn't terrible to look at, Delaney had to admit.
"It's just over there," said Amos, pointing to an opening on a hill. "Shall we?"
"Oh yes. We don't want to be late. Come on," Mr. Weasley said, walking over to the old boot as he ushered everyone to follow him.
