"Ron, come on! They couldn't have gone far." Delaney dragged Ron towards the long outdoor corridor with Ginny, Luna, and Neville.
"I'm running just as fast as you!" Ron panted, trying to keep up with Delaney.
The group of five were trying to find Harry and Hermione after they were forced to show Umbridge "Dumbledore's secret weapon" according to Hermione. Thanks to Ron's brilliant idea and Delaney's secret stash of Fred and George's Puking Pastilles, they were able to escape from the High Inquisitorial squad.
"Look, they're down there!" Ginny shouted, pointing to the end of the bridge. Sure enough, Harry and Hermione were running in their direction as well.
"There you are! We've been looking for you both. How'd you get away from Umbridge?" Delaney asked, letting go of Hermione's shoulders after she grabbed them to steady herself.
"The Centaurs wanted her," Hermione laughed.
"How'd you get away from the others?" Harry asked.
"Oh, it was Ron's idea. He told them he was hungry and pulled out my little stash of Puking Pastilles. Just as expected they took them from him, and let's just say it's quite a mess right now," Delaney laughed, glad they were able to get out of there before the smell of vomit met her nose.
"That's brilliant, but I really need to go." Harry eyed each of them.
"Harry, we're coming with you," Ginny insisted, never breaking eye contact with him.
"It's too risky. You all could be hurt," Harry shook his head.
"So what, you taught us all that stuff in the D.A. for a mere show? And now that it comes down to it you're going to say that it's too dangerous for us. That's pretty hypocritical don't you think?" Neville asked, looking directly at Harry. Delaney was completely taken aback by Neville's sudden outburst, as was everyone else. But she was proud of him for standing up for what he believed in.
"He's right, Harry, you taught us that stuff for a reason. Now is the time to use it. We're in this together." Though Delaney knew Hermione was right, she couldn't help but feel if they did go it would make things worse. Especially since hers and Harry's vision didn't align. They could be walking blindly into a trap.
"How are we going to get there then?" Harry huffed, knowing he would not win the argument. Grins formed on everyone else's faces.
"I know a way, follow me," Luna said before she began skipping down the bridge. Everyone looked at each other for a moment before they finally decided to follow her.
They followed Luna out to the clearing in the Forbidden Forest where they had met Buckbeak two years before. Everyone except for Luna and Harry looked confusedly at each other. Harry then told them they would be riding Thestrals to the Ministry, only they were invisible to those who haven't witnessed death. Delaney was quite uneasy at the thought for a moment until Harry and Luna assured her she would be fine and that they would make sure she and everyone else had a good grasp around the Thestral before taking off.
Sure enough, just moments later they were off, soaring through the air on some invisible, majestic, creature. The ride was quite terrifying for Hermione but after Delaney was used to the feeling she grew to love it. It reminded her of those broom rides with Fred. After quite a bit of time, they finally arrived at the Ministry of Magic.
Everyone followed Harry to the Department of Mysteries, this is where Harry said he saw Sirius in the vision. Only when they began searching they couldn't find anything. It looked as though no one had been in there for mere decades.
"I don't understand, I saw him right here!" Harry said in an agitated voice. Delaney began to feel worry burrowing in her chest, maybe she was right.
"Harry, this one's got your name on it," Neville mumbled, pointing to a small blue orb on the shelf at his eye level. Everyone curiously walked over to the small orb, Harry at the lead of course. Delaney stood next to Harry just as he grabbed the orb. It almost immediately began speaking.
