"Come on you lot, it's nearly time." Mrs. Weasley guided the large group of children to Platform 9 ¾.
"She does know we have ten minutes right?" Delaney whispered to Ginny.
"I don't believe she does," Ginny laughed.
After making their way onto the platform and saying goodbye to Mrs. Weasley, all of the children got ready to board the train. Delaney couldn't wait for the year to begin. Though she did wish Lupin would be there to teach again, she was ready to see what this year had in store.
"Hey, Delaney!" George shouted over the loud whistle of the train, signaling the students to board.
"Yes?" she asked as she turned to face the two twins.
"I was wondering, I mean we were wondering if you wanted to sit with us this year?" Fred asked, leaning forward on his toes.
"Oh um," Delaney paused, looking at Ron and Harry who had confused looks on their faces. The twins were fun company. But should she really be around Fred? She'd just admitted to herself that he was attractive, not so long ago. The last thing she needs is to develop a crush on her best friend's brother. Although it would be rude to refuse. "Yeah, why not? If you three don't mind?" Delaney said, now looking at Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
"No we don't carry on, we'll see you when we get to the castle," Hermione said with a slight smile before Ron and Harry could say anything. Hermione gave a slight nod to Delaney as she pulled the two boys onto the train.
"It's about time we got you away from them," Fred smiled.
"What do you mean it's about time?" Delaney asked, looking up at Fred who towered over her.
"We've wanted to take you under our wing for a while now," George admitted.
"The two of you didn't even know how I acted until last year," Delaney said with a suspicious look on her face.
"That doesn't mean you didn't show potential," Fred grinned.
"Whatever you say," Delaney dismissed, secretly doubting their intentions.
The three walked around the train aimlessly until they found an empty compartment, not far from Harry, Ron, and Hermione's. After quite a bit of time and George falling asleep, Delaney and Fred sat alone in the compartment. Delaney decided to pull out one of the books she brought on the train with her. She had just started getting lost in the world of the book when she felt one of the Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans Fred was eating hit her. She looked up at him with a pointed stare.
"Are you seriously going to read the entire time?" Fred asked with a slight smirk.
"Well, what do you suggest I do? George is asleep and you're doing God knows what," Delaney questioned, slightly scared of his answer.
Fred popped another jelly bean into his mouth until he abruptly stopped chewing, "I know what we can do."
"Oh yeah? And what's that?" Delaney asked, placing her bookmark on the page she stopped on and closing the book.
"Care to pay Ron a visit?" Fred asked, smiling as he shook the box of jelly beans in Delaney's direction.
Delaney smiled, knowing what he meant by this before saying, "Lead the way."
Fred and Delaney quickly yet quietly made their way to the compartment that Harry, Ron, and Hermione were sitting in. "Do they normally leave the door open like this?" Fred asked in a hushed tone.
"No, they must have forgotten to close it after the trolley came by," Delaney whispered.
"You have to admit they're asking for it," Fred whispered, now leaning over Delaney as they both just barely peered into the compartment.
