"Delaney, wake up," a husky whispered near her ear.
"Fred? What are you doing up here?" Delaney asked, slowly allowing her eyes to peek open.
"Hermione told me to try to wake you. She said she didn't want to get anything thrown at her," he laughed.
"I don't throw things. That was one time," she laughed as she sat up, stretching as she did so.
"Well, it's time to get ready for lessons today." Fred stood, offering a hand to her.
Delaney dreaded leaving her warm bed however she knew that it was time to get up. She took his hand, rubbing her eyes as Fred turned toward the door.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot," Fred turned, kissing Delaney once on the forehead and once on the lips. "Good morning."
"Good morning," Delaney smiled before Fred left the room. Delaney knew based on the flutter that was in her chest that Fred Weasley meant trouble for her.
She quickly got dressed and walked down to the Great Hall with Fred and George where she found Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
"Hermione, I don't know why you're so scared to wake her up. I've done it twice now and nothing happened," Fred grinned, sitting down next to Delaney.
"She's different with you. All it took was one clock thrown at me for me to stop trying to wake her up," Hermione said, raising her hands in surrender.
"Hermione, I only threw the clock once and it was because you kept me up all night studying and then you woke me up early," Delaney admitted with a giggle.
"I remember that night," Ron nodded in agreement, "you kept us up until like two in the morning saying that we needed to be prepared for a potions test."
"Oh yeah, I remember. Ron fell asleep on his parchment and ended up spilling a bottle of ink," Harry grinned at the memory. Ron had also woken up with an ink stain on his cheek from the last lines he wrote before dozing off.
"What, so are you all teaming up on me?" Hermione asked with a chuckle.
"Just pointing out that I'm not as bad at waking up as you say I am," Delaney laughed.
"Maybe not now but you used to be," Hermione challenged.
"Does that mean I don't have to wake her up anymore?" Fred asked.
"Oh I'm sure there will be times that you wake her up but it won't be for school," Hermione grinned.
Delaney felt her cheeks turn red. She turned to Fred and he gave her a subtle wink as his cheeks seemed slightly red as well.
"Hermione, what are you talking about?" Ron's brows furrowed.
"Oh um, it's nothing really," Hermione nervously said, forgetting Ron had not known about Delaney and Fred's relationship yet.
"What is it?" he asked again. Hermione stayed silent as she looked from Ron to Delaney and Fred.
"Fred?" Ron asked, this time demanding.
"Oh look at the time. I really should be getting to charms class," Delaney muttered as she stood up from the table.
"Oh yeah, me too," Hermione stood quickly.
"Have fun," Delaney subtly whispered in Fred's ear as she walked away with Hermione. Just as the girls walked into charms class Delaney turned to Hermione.
"Hermione, what was that?"
"I'm sorry it slipped out. But just think of it this way, now you don't have to worry about your relationship around Ron," Hermione added, hoping to ease the tension.
