Arriving on Midgard

I rushed back into the busy feast hall, sliding in and out of bodies as I went. I finally reached my mother cooing over Deus. Lex was trying to feed him appleberry tarts. I reached over his head and picked it out of his tiny grubby little fingers.

"I catch you doing that again and I swear I will not be responsible for my actions." I sharply said to him. I admit it was a little harsh but I was in no mood. "Mother, can I talk to you." I said with a sense of urgency.

"What is it." She replied standing up and whispering.

"I need you to look after Deus, shouldn't be than a week." I lowered my voice.

"Of course, but why? Where are you going Liara, what is wrong?" I looked deep into my mothers pleading eyes. I could not bare to lie to her.

"Loki...he is alive and on Midgard. I have to find him and bring him home. Please, ask me no questions." I begged her. She nodded silently and sat down. I bent over and kissed Deus on the head. "Take care my son." I soothed to him. His smiling face was all I needed to gain my strength. I refused to look back at him as I made my way to my room. I scrambled through all of the clothes in the wardrobe. It has to be here somewhere. I reached the back and on the floor was the dress that Loki had given me for our trip to Earth. I thought the humans would not appreciate me turning up in full asgardian attire. Knowing that Thor's only way of transport was Odin, I ran to his chambers. Opening the doors I could see he was already gone and Odin was sitting exhausted in his chair.

"All father, I must go down to Earth." I beseeched him. He was clearly tired from transporting Thor down to Midgard but I needed to be there.

"Thor will handle it." He said slowly.

"Odin, you have said yourself that you saw this in me, you saw that I could tame him. Please I am beginning you, send me down. I can stop him." It was vital I was down there. I have seen Loki with a tormented soul, Thor had not.

"I do not have the power." He replied sympathetically. I kneeled in front of him.

"There are other ways." I whispered and his eye fell sharply on me. "Ancient ways." I said suggestively. He knew what I wanted.

"There is a reason they are ancient, they were abandoned long ago. They have all proved to be fatal in cases and I am not risking your life." He said raising his voice.

"There is the path of fire. You know fire can not touch me, I will live. Please give me the key." I was now standing, looking down at the old man. He sighed and carefully stood up. With out a word he walked over to a small silver box in the corner of the room. His touch opened the container and he pulled out a tiny shimmering bag. He handed it to me and turned away.

"Thank you." I whispered and turned to leave. I placed the bag in a small pocket in the side of the dress I was wearing and went to the stables. I followed the trail deep into the woods, to a place I had not seen since a child, since I received my power over fire. I dismounted and walked up to a rock wall with old asgardian writing on it. My fingers traced the word "to open" and the rock steadily slides open to reveal a secret cavern. It was dark and damp, only lit but five small flickering candles. With a wave of my hand they all began to roar, lighting up the hole. In the middle of the cave was a circular dish, big enough for me to stand on. I gently opened the bag Odin had given me, to reveal some fine gold powder. Stepping onto the plate I took a pinch full of the dust. Taking a deep long lingering breath I closed my eyes and opened my hand to allow the gold powder to fall to my feet. I thought of my destination. I could feel the roaring flames consume me, tingling my skin. I was in a whirling sensation until I stopped suddenly. I opened my eyes as I was in a green park. People walked on by, not even noticing my presence. There was a cold chill in the air and the blue sky was covered by a thick black layer of cloud.

"This doesn't look right." I whispered to myself. I spotted a well dressed man in a suit on some kind of mechanical device. I walked up to him. "Excuse me, this may seem stupid but what is the date?" I asked. The man looked down at me with a confused look.

"You pissed?" He said insultingly. I stayed calm and stood there.

"No. Just tell me the date." I replied biting my tongue.

"February 23rd." He said with attitude and walked off. I took a deep breath and looked around me. This was the wrong date, Thor was sent down on April the 23rd not February. This was bad, I had no money, no where to go. I knew no one. Suddenly a loud explosion came from behind me. Spinning around I could see smoke rising from a tall glass building. I began to run towards it. As I turned the corner an army of black metal trucks met my eye. Hundreds of men in black with big guns were running. The man closest to me was wearing a black suit and had black sun glasses. He had brown hair that was reseeding on his head and looked like he was in his late thirties.

"What's going on?" I asked him. His head sharply snapped towards me.

"Please move back, we are handling this." He said slightly pushing me back as another loud noise filled the air.

"Really doesn't look like it." I argued back. All of the civilians had been evacuated now except for me.

"Agent Coulson, get down here!" A voice cried out. The man in front of me responded.

"Son of Coul?" I whispered to myself. He could be my only hope of surviving out here. I had to stick with him. More gun shots could be heard and Coulson and I ducked for cover near a black jeep.

"Natasha! Where are you?" Coulson shouted down another mechanical device.

"Came across some trouble, be there soon." A female voice cried out from the metal box.

"Keep down low." Coulson said sternly. I nodded and peered over the bonnet of the truck as the shots had stopped. My eyes widened in confusion as I saw a man dressed in a tight red and black all in one suit. He had two swords attached to his back and a big gun in his hand. He then suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind a officer.

"You stupid vaguely foreign freaks! You ruined my vacation!" He screamed out slamming the officers head on a car bonnet.

"We have spotted Deadpool." Coulson whispered again into his mechanical box. The man known as Deadpool then strutted up to another solider and punched him out cold.

"And you! Dumb as nail S.H.E.I.L.D clones! I saw what you did to those cherry blossoms back there! You think those things grown on trees?!" He cried out manically. He was obviously a sarcastic maniac. At this point Coulson was standing and facing Deadpool.

"And you! You think it makes me less of a man if I came here for the cherry blossom festival? Huh?" He shouted at Coulson, who did not flinch as he appeared right next to him. "You're laughing with your eyes! I can see it!" He cried out once more in a sarcastic cry.

"Wilson stand down." Coulson replied calmly.

"Fine, time for a little boss battle suckers!" Deadpool hollered.
