Cassandra reached the library as she heard Hermione complaining.

"He's at perfect liberty to kiss whoever he likes." Hermione said as Cassandra reached her and Harry. "I really couldn't care less. Was I under the impression he and I would be attending Slughorn's Christmas Party together? Yes. Now, given the circumstances, I've had to make other arrangements."

"Have you?" Harry asked.

"Yes, why?"

"Well, I'd have thought seeing as neither of us could go with who we'd really like to, we should go together, as friends." Harry said.

Cassandra chuckled, causing Harry to look at her weird.

"Why didn't I think of that?" Hermione asked.

"Who are you going with?" Harry asked.

"Uhm, it's a surprise." Hermione said. "Anyway, it's you we got to worry about. You can't just take anyone. See that girl over there? That's Romilda Vane, she's trying to smuggle you a love potion."

"Really?" Harry raises his eyebrows.

"Hey!" Hermione said, snapping her fingers in front of his face. "She's only interested in you because she thinks you're the Chosen One."

"I am the Chosen One." Harry smirked and both girls smacked him. "Sorry, um, kidding. Well I'll ask someone I like, someone cool."

~~

"I don't really want to go." Cassandra explained to Blaise as they walked to Potions together. "I'm only going because Dumbledore would be disappointed in me if I didn't. Thank goodness you and I are going together because I would've had to find a boring date if we weren't."

"I know someone who would've loved to go with you." Blaise mumbled under his breath.

They reached the Potions classroom and sat down in their respective spots.

Draco felt a ting of jealousy in his chest when he noticed Cassandra and Blaise walking in together.

"Seriously?" Draco asked as Blaise sat next to him. "You can't stay away from her, can you?"

"What can I say Draco?" Blaise asked. "We've been best friends since we were six."

Draco rolled his eyes and tried his best to focus on the lesson going on in the background. He didn't particularly like Slughorn's teaching.

Hermione dipped behind the curtains with Cassandra hot on her heels. Cassandra knew Hermione was hiding from Cormac McLaggen.

"What are you two doing?" Harry asked as he dipped behind the curtains too.

The two girls looked at each other and then back at Harry.

"We are, well I am, hiding from my date." Hermione said.

"Cormac McLaggen." Cassandra whispered. "He tried to kiss her under the mistletoe."

"Oh god, here he comes." Hermione said, dipping out of the curtains.

"I think she just went to powder her nose." Harry said to McLaggen.

"Sneaky little minx, your friend there." McLaggen smiled as he took a dish off a tray. "She likes to run her mouth, doesn't she?"

"Yeah." Harry answered as Snape dipped behind the curtains as well.

McLaggen turned around and barfed on Snape's shoes.

"You just bought yourself a month's worth of detention, McLaggen." Snape said. Cassandra and Harry started to slip out. "Not so fast, Potters."

"We should rejoin the party." Cassandra smiled sweetly. "Our poor dates."

"Mr. Zabini and Ms. Lovegood will be fine." Snape said. "Now, Dumbledore is gone and will not be returning until the start of term."

The three of them dipped out of the curtains just as Filch entered the room, holding Draco Malfoy.

"Found this boy lurking." Filch said. "He said he was invited to your party."

"Mr. Malfoy, a word." Snape said.

"Certainly, Professor." Draco said, clearly upset.

Draco made eye contact with Cassandra before leaving the room.

"Harry, where are you going?" Cassandra asked.

"To go spy." Harry whispered.

Cassandra rolled her eyes.

"You can't always be spying." Cassandra said. "You're going to get caught."

~~

Cassandra stumbled into the Burrow, with her trunk in her hand. Her cat carrier was on her back. She managed to get a cat carrier that was more of a backpack.

"Here let me help you." Fred said, taking her trunk from her.

"Fred, can we talk?" Cassandra asked.

"Yeah, always." Fred replied.

Cassandra and Fred walked into the twins's room.

"I'm sorry, Fred." Cassandra said.

"It's okay, Cassandra." Fred said. "I know your heart belongs to another. And I don't blame you for kissing me a second time. Kissing helps determine your feelings towards someone."

"How did you know I was going to talk about that?" Cassandra asked.

"You are an open book, Cassandra." Fred chuckled. "It is very easy to tell that you are in love with someone else. I even went to one of your friends to confirm that you are in love with someone."

"Which friend?" Cassandra asked.

"Blaise Zabini." Fred replied. "Don't let him know that I had told you he told me. He asked to stay out of it but I can't lie to you, Cassie."

"Well, I'm glad you can't lie to me." Cassandra chuckled. "Don't worry, I won't spill your secret."

"I really appreciate you wanting to talk to me about it, Cassie." Fred said. "Thank you so much."

"Of course, Freddie." Cassandra smiled. "Now, shall we go bother Harry?"

"Always!" Fred said.
