( December '97 )
It was time to visit Godric's Hollow. Cassandra wasn't ready to see where her parents died. Going back there meant going to the life she could've had instead.
Houses lined the streets, snow was falling, covering everything. As the three young Gryffindors walked down the street, they heard bells and singing. Cassandra figured it must have been Christmas Eve.
"I still think we should've used Polyjuice Potion." Hermione said as they stopped to look around.
"No." Harry said. "This is where we were born. We're not returning as someone else."
A bell chimed in the distance.
"I think it's Christmas Eve, listen." Hermione said.
"Do you think they'd be in there Cas?" Harry asked, gesturing to the graveyard. "Our mum and dad?"
"Yeah." Cassandra said. "I think they would."
The three entered the graveyard determined to find James and Lily Potter. Hermione split off from Cassandra and Harry.
"Hey, Harry! Cassie!" Hermione yelled.
She then noticed the Potter twins were standing at a gravestone. It was James and Lily's. Harry and Cassandra held hands, tears falling down their faces.
"Merry Christmas, Hermione." Harry said. "Merry Christmas, Cassandra."
"Merry Christmas." Cassandra and Hermione said in unison.

When they returned to the forest, Cassandra and Harry stayed up while Hermione went back in the tent to sleep. Hermione gave Harry the locket before she went into the tent.
"Well that was rough." Cassandra said.
"Yeah." Harry said. "Nagini freaks me out."
Cassandra tapped Harry's hand. There was a silver patronus in the shape of a doe near the lake.
"Oh my goodness." Cassandra breathed, knowing exactly who the patronus had belonged to.
Cassandra got up so fast that Harry only saw her black hair swirl past him. Cassandra ran towards the doe, hoping nobody was in trouble. The doe moved closer to the lake with Cassandra close on its tail. The doe stopped and pointed towards the lake where a silver glint was shining in the water.
Harry caught up with Cassandra when she walked out onto the ice. She wiped the snow off the ice and saw the silver glint of the Sword of Gryffindor. She took the dagger out from her boot and started cutting a circle into the ice.
Harry took off all his clothes except for his boxers and handed them to Cassandra. She tossed them onto the ground and proceeded to take her clothes off too. She stopped once she got to her tank top and women's boxers.
The twins jumped into the lake together. The cold water hit Cassandra like a ton of bricks. She had never felt so cold in her life. They swam closer to the sword when Harry got abruptly pulled back. The horcrux was being wonky and wanted to stay as far away from the sword as possible.
Cassandra had the sword in her hands when she got abruptly pulled up.
"Harry!" Cassandra said. "What the heck!"
"Not Harry, Ron." Ron said.
Cassandra turned around and sure enough Ron was there.
"Are you here to insult us more?" Harry asked. "If you are then you can just go."
"Are you mental?" Ron asked.
"Did you cast the doe as well?" Harry asked.
"No, I thought that was you." Ron replied.
"No." Harry said. "My patronus is a stag and Cassie's is a dragon."
"Oh right." Ron said. "The antlers."
Ron put up his arms, imitating antlers.
Harry put the horcrux on a rock.
"Okay Ron." Cassandra said. "Do it."
"I can't handle it." Ron said. "That thing affects me more than you."
"All the more reason." Harry said.
"He's right." Cassandra agreed.
"No, I can't." Ron said looking at Cassandra.
"Then why are you here?" Harry asked. "Why did you come back?"
"Now, Harry is going to have to speak for it to open." Cassandra said. "When it does, don't hesitate."
"We don't know what is in there." Harry said. "But it will put up a fight. The Riddle that was in the diary tried to kill me."
"One." Cassandra counted. "Two. Three"
Harry started speaking parseltongue, causing the locket to open up. When the locket burst open, a black smoke came out of the locket and a screeching noise filled the forest.
"I have seen your heart and it is mine." A voice said. "I have seen your dreams Ronald Weasley. And I have seen your fears. Least loved by your mother who craved a daughter. Least loved by the girl that prefers your friend."
"Ron kill it!" Cassandra yelled.
Hermione and Harry came out of the smoke, slowly walking towards Ron.
"We were better without you." Fake Harry said. "Happier without you."
"Who could look at you, compared to Harry Potter?" Fake Hermione asked. "What are you compared to the Chosen One?"
"Ron, it's lying!" Harry yelled.
"Your mother confessed that she would have preferred me as a son." Fake Harry said.
"What woman would take you? You are nothing. Nothing compared to Harry Potter."
Fake Hermione and Harry started furiously making out – without their clothes on. Cassandra looked away, she felt like she was interrupting something.
Ron took the sword and smashed the locket. The horcrux was now destroyed.
