DELIA
January 6th
Dear Dimitri,
I'm so sorry about your friend Simon. When I read your letter, I broke down and cried for hours (which is probably why this letter is late because I missed the post office hours). He sounds like an amazing kid and I'm sorry he went through that.I did have a childhood best friend. Jessica. We weren't next-door neighbors, but we lived on the same street. We were inseparable, like you and Simon. We were together all the time. She moved away when I was 12 and I haven't talked or heard from her since. It's weird. Her mom decided to move out of nowhere and I never learned why.
I'm glad you liked your presents. Bill and Ted haven't stopped playing with theirs. They're not chewed up yet (but I'm waiting). You better not be serious about getting me an XBOX. Those things are expensive. Also, your tattoo drawing looks so cute. We should definitely get those when we finally meet.
How was your Christmas? Did you have fun with Diamond? My Aunt Sue and I stayed home, baked cookies, and made chocolate peppermint milkshakes. We watched Christmas movies all night. On New Year's Eve, we went to the beach and watched a fireworks show. It was the best.
My dad is a jerk, but I think it's because of the alcohol. It's like oxygen (or water in this case) to him. He can't go a day without drinking. He's so aggressive when he's sober and sometimes he's nicer when he's drunk, which is ironic because those are some of his bad nights, too.
Do you have a boyfriend?
Love, Delia
