DIMITRI
May 25th
Dear Delia,
Last day of school. We're sophomores now.My dad was starting to change, too, but he never did. It started with a clean house and a shaved face. But it doesn't last. It never did. I hope your dad really wants to change, but I still don't like the idea of you living there.
My mom, Diamond, Dennis, and me are going to visit my grandparents over the summer. My mom wants to sell the house. I probably won't be able to send letters until we settle down, but as soon as we find a new house I'll give you my address.
I'm going to start looking for a part time job. We both need to start saving up so we can finally meet. I don't know what I want to do since we'll be staying with my grandparents all summer. I was thinking about babysitting. There's a lot of families in their neighborhood.
My dad's going to prison for 3 years. It was finalized yesterday. They said we're allowed to go visit him, but I don't think I ever want to see him again.
If this is my last letter for a while, then good luck to your new job and please, please, please stay safe.
Love, Dimitri
