Dear Delia,
YAY! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU! You have no idea how glad I am that you're going to be somewhere safe and loved. I would LOVE to meet your cousins. They sound fun and amazing. My cousins and I don't really get along. They're much older than me. I've always been close with Dennis and Diamond; I mean, I've had them my entire life.
My Thanksgiving was fine. It was weird not having my dad there, but it's definitely better that he wasn't. Oh. I almost forgot. I have some news about a certain Diamond and Riley... THEY GOT ENGAGED!
Riley asked her to marry him after Thanksgiving dinner. He decorated the backyard with Christmas lights and bought a hundred dozen orders of her favorite flowers (roses and lilies). He said the flowers cost almost as much as the ring. We all watched through the window when he proposed. Diamond got it on video. It was so romantic. It became PG-13 pretty fast so we had to close the curtains and send Dennis up to his room.
They haven't decided on a date yet; they both want to wait until after they graduate college (which is also when we graduate high school- so perfect timing). Yes, you're invited. I'm in charge of invitations and you're getting the first one. Diamond agreed to make us both bridesmaids if you're up to doing that with me.
My mom's been decorating for Christmas like crazy. She already changed the shower curtains from fall leaves to winter snowflakes. I like it, though. She's always happier around Christmas time. She's doing a lot better. After I finish writing this letter, Dennis and I are going to help her decorate the house outside. We're hanging up lights.
