AUNT SUE
March 24th
Dear Dimitri,
My name is Sue Winchester (Delia's aunt). I'm sure she's mentioned me a few times in her letters. Delia talks about you all the time. I mean, she did. She used to. It's hard talking about her in past tense. You were Delia's greatest friend. There was never a moment where she wasn't talking about you or your family or your cat, Simon.I want to thank you for everything you've done for Delia. Though her life was cut short, you made her last years wonderful. She used to get so excited when your letters came in the mail. She checked the mailbox every day so she wouldn't miss even one. She kept all your letters in a box, along with your gifts. Delia loves you, Dimitri. Even still, after she... I'm sure you know now what happened.
I read the last letters you sent. It makes me happy that you're still writing to her. I'm sure wherever she is, Delia's reading your letters and smiling. I wasn't going to write back, but it wouldn't be fair to you or Delia if I didn't allow you to come to her funeral. I want to personally fly your family to Florida. My treat.
It's what Delia would want.
I've held off on having her funeral because I knew Delia would have wanted you there. Her funeral is next week, so you can call or text (whichever you prefer) at (813) 258-0921 and we can discuss travel options. I look forward to hearing from you, Dimitri.
Love, Aunt Sue
